Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls,

Well I have been truly pampered at the hair salonVery Happy

The weather is still a little humid but not quite so hot as it has been, gardens thankfully have had some rain showers too which will do the lawns good. Shipping News.!

Terribly sad news about the Spanish Train tragedy.

Pot of Yorkshire tonight with a cupcake, help yourselves.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Camilla's Avatar Fennie, I left you a message on 24th July owl post, you asked if the book was Miller's Autobiography, it is a Biography Fennie about him, written by Kate Bassett.Very Happy

Blackbird's Avatar I'm glad you've been off pampering yourself, Camilla and a little less hair helps so much with the humidity.

My new fridge came today and I'm still trying to figure out where to put things for easy access and maximum storage. Things seem to have changed a bit since my last fridge- the new one has more space for some shapes and none really for others. I'll have Sam and then Kate take a look at it with their problem-solving eyes and see if they can do better. I tend to cook from scratch and buy in bulk, particularly veggies. Add in a variety of ethnic sauces and seasonings- well, you see my problem.
But, it is quiet and not freezing things and that's a good thing.

I'm sorry for the people in the train tragedy and their families- I find that I try to put the fact that everything can change in a moment through no action of your own out of my mind as often as I can. This certainly reminds us of our fragility.

Sweet and safe sleep, owls and larks.

Fennie's Avatar Thank you, Camilla, very much for that information about the book.

Hope you've got your plumbing problems fixed. Do you have a simple inspection cover on the drain that you can lift to see whether you have water flowing? I have found that if you put a garden hose pipe into the drain with the water flowing you can usually flush out any blockage. It isn't a very pleasant job but the method works. Leaving the hose pipe afterwards in the sun will disinfect it. Might save you 50!

Fairy Nuff's Avatar We had a move around of the kitchen cupboard contents a few months ago BB to put them somewhere more sensible for how and when they are used... we've only been in the house 13 years!Rolling Eyes

Camilla's Avatar Not a hair cut BB, just a colour wash, trying to grow it a little as has been quite short for some time, now long enough to pin up.Very Happy enjoy the fridge, what we do without them, larders and pantry maybe to keep things cool. I have a little pantry in our cottage, good to store veg if need be.

Camilla's Avatar Fennie, problem with plumbing still not fixed, a man is coming next Wednesday from our local water company to sort out for us, we have a policy on our insurance so will be covered hopefully. Yes, had a look on the inspection cover, our local plumber put long hose down to try and flush our blockage but loo is still blocked.!

Thanks Fennie.Very Happy
