Blackbird's Avatar The weather has been quite reasonable here lately- cool mornings, warm and sunny afternoons- no rain for weeks though so having to water the garden.

I went to a baby shower for a cousin's daughter- pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl. Much fun, a game or two Sad, good food and cake as well. It was great to see everyone and to shop for a little one or two. Our side of the family has not had a baby for years- hmmm.......

I would be off to bed as it is late for me but my daughter called a while ago and said that she was having an allergic reaction to something at work and was on her way to be checked out at the hospital. How can I sleep now? I'm sure she will be fine but waiting to hear....

Fennie's Avatar Very hot here. Almost record breaking temperatures - at least for sustained heat. The average daytime temperature for the past week must have been at least 27 degrees. Some sparrows have moved into the old starlings' nest under the eaves. I am worried that under the slate roof they will all die of heat exhaustion or dehydration. We have a birdbath for them but will they drink enough for the youngsters?

Garden party and boules tournament this afternoon.

Camilla's Avatar Same here re the weather Fennie, very hot. Perfect weather for me would be no more than 80 farenheit with a cool breeze. Suffering with the hayfever yesterday, good that I have the antihistimine spray though.

Hope the little Sparrows will be alright, they do I know have a way of coping with the heat by panting and spreading their wings out to cool but of course clean water is vital for them to drink. I have a large bird bath here that I refill regularly throughout the day for them.

Enjoy the garden party later Fennie, hope lots of money can be raised for the charity.
