Cowart's Common Room
Happy Birthday to Us

Yes it was six years today that we launched this site with Purplecoo then being on Blogger . . .

Technically the site has lasted really well which is down to our AA so thank you to him.

A huge BIG thank you too to all of you that have contributed to this site and kept it going - with a special thanks to Camilla who puts up most of our Owl posts - but thank you as well to Blackbird - Camilla's able assistant who is always there to step in if Camilla wasn't able. And thank you again to Camilla who puts up all our birthdays and anniversaries . . .

Thanks also go to Faith who has put up and marked countless numbers of homeworks and thanks also go to Fennie who has been currently doing them.

Coffee and croissants all round this morning Very Happy

Fennie's Avatar And very well done to you, WW, for having the idea and the courage to put it into effect. It is amazing that we should still be here. I live in hope that some birds that have flown the Purple Coop will return and that others may look in with greater frequency.

PC was wonderful, wasn't it? - that first year - such a hive of activity and creativeness. Still is pretty wonderful if you ask me and a constant source of warmth and support. There used long ago to be a TV advert for a brand of cigarettes called 'Strand.' (You can tell how long ago that must have been). There's this man wearing a hat (again how dated!) and a raincoat in a strange town at midnight. It may also be raining and everything is closed (no 24 hour life in the fifties). He lights a cigarette and the comforting slogan appears 'You're never alone with a Strand.'

It's a bit like that with PC. Log on at any hour of the day or night; you are never alone.

Well done and thanks, WW.

Faith's Avatar I love it too Muddie, and as Fennie says its very comforting to know that there is always someone (or will be soon) to answer any query or give support. I think those that have left are the ones missing out (and if you are reading this, don't be shy, you'll be welcomed back with open arms).

Thanks for everything WW.

Withy Brook's Avatar So long as there are a few people posting and more commenting, the site will remain interesting. As others have said, it is an enormous source of strength when things are hard. LONG LIVE THE COO!
And a thousand thanks to WW and AA for keeping it alive.
