Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls,

Ooops, fell asleep on that comfy sofa again. Busy day gardening with my old trusty Hayter which has performed it's best since 1985 and still going strong, money well spent I should say.Very Happy

Beautiful weather at the moment, even the birds are enjoying their cool dip in the bird-bath too.

Can you believe it, I am clean out of chocolate.! this will never do.Very Happy

Just made a cuppa, if you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Larks will soon be up, off to bed .....oh almost forgot, saw two Bats whizzing around over the gardens here around 9.30pm yesterday evening, obviously looking for insects as night was drawing in. Fascinating to watch them, such speed in flight.

Nighty Night dear owls, sweetest of dreams.

xx

Re:
Lily's Avatar My Dad had a collection of mowers, including a Hayter. I think there was an advert years ago along the lines of "sooner or later you'll buy a Hayter"- I remember him saying this was true- after trial and error with other makes the trusty Hayter was the best.
I've noticed the bats whizzing around recently and wondered where they roost as the buildings immediately near us are all modern.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar We always used to have Atco mowers but they seem to have gone the way of all flesh. They were elegant machines painted in British Racing Green and carried the Royal Crest in gold on the petrol tank.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar I see it's the Lady of the house who seem to cut the grassLaughing
Our Grass Fairy seems to have discovered he was cutting the wrong grass (after three fortnightly cuts) and hasn't been back, at least he didn't ask for any payment!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar There is a 1400 Church very nearby 5 minute walk Lily, perhaps the Bats may roost there.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Had no heard of the Atco Mowers, thank you for the link Rosie. Fennie, yes the Hayter British Racing Green with the Royal Crest on the tank. Talking of British Racing Green, brings back memories of my old Spitfire sports car I used to drive, bought it in 1982 and sold it in 1986, wish I still had it, I loved that car, bad move on my part.Uploaded Image

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar I've no idea who our grass fairy was.
We came home one evening to find our grass had been cut, wasn't the Neighbours nor my BIL all their grass was still long.
A fortnight later the same thing happened, and a fortnight after that, by then we were at the end of a month and I was waiting for the knock at the door for payment, we were going to keep them on if they had but no one came. We surmise however that they found out some other way they were cutting the wrong grass as it's not been cut again!
