Cowart's Common Room
Advice Needed

Anyone know anything about a company called 'Select Calls?' They are offering me a wizard deal on my telephone. But if they are so good why the hard sell?

Lily's Avatar Have you googled ? They seem to be a genuine company but with a somewhat lax ethical approach. Apparently saying they are BT to get into a discussion. Some reviews tell of a bargain price for the first year and then subsequent years are greatly increased.

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar I had a call from these people and was given the impression that the were from BT and updating my contract. I got as far as the girl taking down my info when she let slip that they weren't BT. I then gave them a very hard time of and they were glad to put their phone down!
Not heard from them again.

Fennie's Avatar Thanks for the advice. They seem to be a genuine company and to be fair the salesman who spoke to me didn't say he was from BT. It seems they can offer you low prices because they lock you into a 5 year rolling contracts and can no doubt get very good discounts by offering long term deals to BT OpenReach. The penalties for breaking the contract are severe and easily cancel the savings you are likely to make. Their trading terms and conditions - available on their website - put me off.

Camilla's Avatar Always good to check out these companies I think Fennie as you have done, especially as one's savings might go down the drain.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar When I've heard from them they've always contrived their speech to sound like they were BT too.
I thought offcom were trying to stop rolling contracts?
