Cowart's Common Room
Deja vue

Woke up this morning to a white world again, having achieved normality for the last few days. A lovely warm sun, in a clear blue sky has got rid of the stuff off the south-facing roofs, but otherwise it is still white and frozen. I believe it may all go again tomorrow - can't be soon enough Evil or Very Mad

Lily's Avatar Winter hasn't quite finished with us. We are forecast much colder weather for next week, possibly some snow. Probably the day that a friend and I are having the 3rd attempt at our Christmas meal.

Camilla's Avatar Hi Withy,

Heard that it is going to be much colder again next week here in Norfolk. It is raining heavily here as I type and extremely cold and biting east winds too. I caught a snippet of news earlier on in the day where they said that we may have an early Spring this year.....can't wait.!

Mountainear's Avatar I've heard it will turn cold again too - certainly not unheard of in February - we've a way to go yet.

However, today has been the first day in what seems like forever to have been absolutely beautiful weatherise. The frost lifted and the sun shone - it felt warm on my back. Bliss.

I always worry that my gardening mojo has gone, never to return, as I'm rarely tempted out in the winter months. Today though, I discovered it was still there as I really wanted to be out in the garden. Hurrah for that as there is plenty to be done!

Withy Brook's Avatar We always expect to get a lambing storm in April. The year I came up here there was a massive snow fall about 20th April!
I actually did some gardening today - cutting back a Garrya eliptica that had collapsed over the path, with the weight of snow. An amazing number of plants have recovered but not that one.
