Perfect October Day

This is Nelson, a sculpture of a seal who lived for many years in and around the waters of Looe harbour in Cornwall. We walked along from Looe to Hannafore yesterday, lovely warm sunshine which made us shed our Dartmoor garb of scarves and fleeces.

Blackbird's Avatar What a lovely fat sealVery Happy And how great to have its spirit immortalized on those rocks in the sun. I would imagine that many people assume it's real?

Lily's Avatar Yes, a proper sculpture, he looks just as he should. Sculpted in 2008 by local sculptor Suzie Marsh who also sculpts much smaller creatures. The hares are especially appealing. Forever keeping guard over the harbour.
