Felting Exhaustion!

Went to a wet felting workshop on Saturday. The hat is progressing nicely but back, neck and right arm completely knackered. Is there an age limit for this activity?Very Happy

Vic's Avatar I fancy going to one of these workshops. Never been to anything like that before and would take a lot of bravery on my part. Where did you go for it?

Camilla's Avatar Wonder if our dear FN can throw some light on this for you Lily, I know she is a whiz with felting too. Lots of chilling out later for you me thinks with good book to rest those limbs.

Lily's Avatar Hello Vic , the workshop was at Buckland Abbey and run by the lady who runs the Yelverton Wet felt Company. I wouldn't worry about joining something like this, there were 4 of us and only one lady had much prior experience. Everything was very friendly and informal. I'm sure there are similar workshops all over the country. Just the aches and pains that follow the workshop...

Lily's Avatar Faith, I used to go to Pilates after recommendation from physio. No gain without pain as they say. And who are these mythical "they"?

Westerwitch's Avatar I would love to see how felting is done - from the little I have seen it looks a lot of hard work.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar I was in the middle of a felting frienzy when I hurt my back so haven't got back to it for 3 weeks it's just too much to stand and roll the felt yet.
Funnily enough the friend that taught me was meant to be at the fibrefest last week but her Hubby was manning the stall as she had hurt her back and shoulders with over felting for her Christmas stockSad
So I think the answer to your question Lily would be no, no age limit but the strains are an occupational hazzard
