Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Good Evening Owls,

What a night.! so much heavy rain and thunderstorms last night well into the early hours, which kept Daisy awake and which led me to get hardly any sleep at all, she loathes the thunder. Happy to say no more bad weather today so lots of pottering in the garden.

Am very much looking forward to our Autumn Read, seems ages ago that our Summer Read I finished.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Fennie's Avatar Rain now this morning, bucketing down here. Typical bank holiday! Do we read to know we are not alone?

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar I read to be alone - to take myself out of the world when it has become just too tiresome and I want to be somewhere else.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Cowgirl.Smile

No rain here this morning Fennie, just hung out a line of linen to dry but looking at those clouds above looks like more rain on the way later.

The author and playwright Nicholson I am sure relates to that word ALONE by I think that if a person is alone than by reading a book it can ease our aloneness by immersing oneself into a book, so we feel we are not alone.

Blackbird's Avatar Late to the perch again.
I've found that reading is a great comfort when I'm overwhelmed and cannot center myself but the experience of reading is very broad for me- sharing and recognizing emotions and situations creates a bridge between reader and writer. Oh and how reading opens the window on the great expanse of time and space. I don't know if I'm making any sense- it's late and time for book and bed.
