Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls,

It has been raining since yesterday and as I type it is still raining... shipping forecast.!

The little Thrush is still coming to visit every day, I can easily recognise her against all the other Thrush's so tame too, I do hope she stays for the winter. Do Thrush's fly off to other lands I wonder during the winter months?

Was in the kitchen yesterday making a pot of tea, I had the french windows open in the sitting room, came back from the kitchen to see a little sparrow sitting on top of the sofa.Smile Daisy my JRT had got nervous and hid in the hall, so proud of Daisy not even hurting the little bird. Luckily sparrow flew back out into the garden again.

Yorkshire brew with cookies tonight.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar That little sparrow will move in with you CamillaVery Happy No going anywhere for the winter for that little bird. Poor Daisy- an invasion of outside creatures- however little- inside and on the sofa.Very Happy Next it might be cats....

Still no rain here but cooler mornings with the clouds parting by early afternoon and gentle warmth. Going away parties continue for my son and his friends as they begin to head back to school. Work continues at my daughter's house for her party mid-September. I suppose that's one way to get things done- plan a party! She was using my van today so shopping tomorrow- empty cupboards.

Sweet dreams, owls and larks.

Re:
Lily's Avatar Song thrush + Mistle thrush live in the UK all year round. The Redstart (smallest of the thrush family) is a winter visitor, I see them near us usually in small flocks. We have a resident song thrush who sings from a tall tree in our garden, really beautiful sound.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar It is just so lovely to have wild animals trust you and who want to be near you . . . I used to have a rabbit that came to visit me everyday when I fed the chickens . . .

Fennie's Avatar Gosh he's only just left and already she is writing her thank you letter. What's the black band in aid of, I wonder?

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Fennie, not sure? perhaps a brighter pink sash would be moe fitting.Smile

Our next planned party is in October BB, daughter's 40th and granddaughter's 18th. Table for 13 at the moment but my husband said yesterday to me that there was no way that he would be attending the party for family and friends.Rolling Eyes

Lily - I think the Thrush I feed here is a Song Thrush, light brown and speckled breast. They do make the loveliest sounds I agree Lily.

It's interesting to know WW why perhaps some animals including the birds are more tamer than others, lovely when they trust us and get near to us though.
