Blackbird's Avatar Oh Camilla,
enjoy some of summer's remaining days in your garden under your new pergola - not just time doing the tasks needed before winter. It hasn't rained here for over a month and every thing is dusty and in need of water. The street trees seem to suffer most as people take care of their own gardens and forget the city trees. Add air pollution and sometimes poor trimming and it can be a hard life for a tree.

My son's girlfriend is headed back to school next week so summer is beginning to come to a close for him. His school doesn't start until the last week of September but once others start to leave- it's never far away.

I don't know 'Parade's End' but maybe I can get it here later- let us know how you like it. Tasty pre-sleep treats you had tonight SmileSmile

Sweet dreams, owls and larks.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar Cappuccino and chocolates sound yummy.
I've always fancied a pergola, visions of sitting reading wearing a summer hat and something floaty like in your paintingsVery Happy

Camilla's Avatar Trouble is FN is when I do sit down I think... oh I will just do this, just do that, or whatever else needs doing and end up not sitting down at all.!Very Happy

We have much rain today here in Norfolk, thunderstorms too BB, hope you get some rain soon. Think my grandchildren go back to school and college first week in September.

Re the 'Parade's End' book BB, I have not read the book but one can purchase it on Amazon website, think it was first wrote in four parts to the book between 1924 and 1928 by it's author Ford Maddox Ford. The programme I watched last night on TV was the adaptation by the English Playwright Tom Stoppard, first of five parts.
