Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls, or perhaps even Larks.!

Another day of gardening, catching up with it all since the heatwave and my short trip away to Surrey.

Love watching the birdies all taking a dip in the bird bath, Miss Tippy-Tap the little Thrush is still coming to the window sill each day for her little tit-bits, very tame and I am surprised that she still visits must be over eight weeks now. Lots of bird food I put out daily of course but she still likes to tap for food on the window.Very Happy

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar The local council sent their chaps to erect a new village lane sign a few weeks back, the sign directs walkers and of course Mr Posty down this lane of where there are only a handful of cottages. The old sign had got a tad rusty over the years so it was thought a new one be made up, made of metal and secured on a new wooden post.

Walking near the lane yesterday and thought that's strange..... yep.... someone has stolen the metal sign.Rolling Eyes

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar Silly news about the sign- hopefully it will show up after some adventures. I've only once coveted a small sign- a small No Trespassing one- maybe 10 inches long, yellow and black with loads of rust. Every time I walked down that alley and saw it on the dilapidated garage, I thought- I could take that and no one would even notice. But, I didn't and it's probably still there- maybe Jack and I should check tomorrow.

I'm glad that your weather is better- long shadows in the picture tonight- very relaxed. I wonder if your little bird friend will stay the winter? Do you know?

I'm off to book and bed- it seems that as soon as the sun goes down, the yawns come.
Sweet dreams, owls and larks.

Re:
Arosebyanyothername's Avatar I once saw a sign with my son's name on it - Lincoln Grove - I really wanted that - but I didn't take it - honest!

There was quite a craze when I was a teen for nicking passing place signs to hang over the Loo!

Re:
haha, nicking signs - you reprobates! Sadly, those nicking them now do it for the scrap metal value not for the love of the quirky messages...

Camilla's Avatar Would be interesting to learn if the little Thrush will stay for the winter BB, do hope so. Think I'm going to miss her otherwise.Smile

The metal sign that was nicked was World's End Lane, great name.! folk who were visitors to the village would often stop by and even take a photo of it.
