Cowart's Common Room
Peace!

Husband, step son and wife and two very noisy girls aged 8 and 6 have just left for a picnic up the top of the River Coquet. What a relief! Don't think I could have stood the noise and disruption for another minute!!!!! Rolling Eyes
Of course I love them to bits, but they are very exhausting and I still tire easily Sad
Now I can get on with the chores, excercise my knee, do the laundry, cook the supper etc etc !!

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar Oh, Withy, I know just how you feel. After all our hard work last week getting our show sorted and then putting it on I now have my two grandchildren staying. I am exhausted and not getting any of my chores done.
I hope you recover soon from the experience of grandchildren!

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Yes, that's true. We have had - and will have again shortly - Younger daughter plus Theo 3 and Isla, 3 months. The mess the make and the washing-up they create is amazing. They are also so much of a distraction. Isla has already learned the trick of a beaming smile, so naturally she is picked up and cuddled at every opportunity. Theo is a one boy whirlwind.

Re:
Arosebyanyothername's Avatar I am very lucky, I know and I do love them to bits, like Withy but at the moment I am finding them tiring. One of them has been sick all morning and the other one is plying me with questions I can't answer! Blink Laughing

We've just been away to the Lake District for the weekend with Himselfs cousin with his wife, MiL, son, sons girlfriend, girlfriends parents, brother in law with wife and two teenage daughters and their Labrador. 13 of us! It was wonderful and I enjoyed every bit of it but I am sooooo glad to be home, just the two of usSmile

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar Joined them at step daughter's house near Rothbury, 1/2 hour away, for tea. I had managed to do the laundry, cook supper, walk down the road, do the Xword, read the paper, and even watch some tele while I rested!
Now G has just gone up, step son and wife are walking down the road, the dish washer is doing its stuff and the two girls are sleeping the sleep of the exhausted! Off up myself soon,
