Cowart's Common Room
Typical weekend

Owl post following owl post! Thought I would blather about nothing so's not to have 3 running!!
Yesterday we went about an hour away to lunch with a favourite cousin of G's and his wife. He, like G and I, are in their 80's and they had another cousin too. She is 92 and her memory is better than all 4 of us! 10 years before me, she went to the same school, so I always feel I have a connection with relation of G's! We had such a happy time, gossiping and reminiscing. Yet another cousin, of the next generation, came to collect the old 'un, so it became a real family gathering!
Today, after Church, which I am off to shortly, will be a quiet one Rolling Eyes

Cowgirl's Avatar Have a nice quiet Sunday, Withy, and what a lovely day on Saturday - you obviously have the longevity gene in your family! Great stuff.

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar Well done, Withy. I like a bit of blathering.
Yesterday we went to Monmouth with Fennie and Jay. Lovely afternoon out if a bit expensive. I got too enthusiastic in the fabric shop Cotton Angel and bought some stuff which I now have to make up into something. Very Happy

Lily's Avatar Time spent with friends + family is often the best spent I think. Hope I still think that later tonight after visit from son+ DIL and 2 tornado offspringVery Happy
I've recently met 2 cousins I was unaware of, one on a visit from Canada. Both courtesy of the internet. The Canadian cousin is the daughter of a "home child" who was sent from South Wales to Canada in the 1920s- a horrific time for children.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar Nice to catch up with Folks sometimes, I've never met half my cousins (22 or so of them and all at least 10 years older than me two of them are older than my parents).

CalicoKate's Avatar Well done on your lines FN!
What a lovely lunch Withy.
We too met up with family at the wedding on Friday, it is great but also quite sad as some of my rellies not seen for a while are ageing without being given permissionConfused It comes as a shock when it's been a few years since I last saw them.
I also got a bit of a surpise when the Best man - the grooms older brother said he was 30, I remember holding him by the fingers as he attempted to walk when he was a very small person, he is now a very TALL person! Guess I'm 30 years older too! Laughing Rolling Eyes
