Cowart's Common Room
I've been flitting here and there ...

I've been flitting here and there so haven't had much time to be on line. On one of my trips I was outside the Tate Modern when this butterfly landed at my feet. It's obviously not a cabbage white, the usual type I get to see, so any ideas as to identification.
Apologies for the poor quality of the photo, I was rather taken by surprise

Fennie's Avatar Are you sure it was real? Might you have a touch of Olympic fever? (see post below). It does look a beautiful butterfly.

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar It looks like a Blue Morpho Butterfly (Morpho Menelaus) from the rainforests of central and southern America. An escaped pet perhaps?

Salle de Bain's Avatar That's amazing! Is the Tate Modern the London one or the Cornish one (excuse my ignorance)Embarassed. I was just thinking about climate...and how a South American 'Flutterby' survives over here?
