Cowart's Common Room

I hated the last three and a half months of non stop rain. Spirits soared when the sun arrived. We've had a glorious week of clear skies and high temperatures. I've spent hours just relaxing in the garden under a big sunshade. Yet this morning when I looked out of the bedroom window and saw clouds and wispy threads of mist across the moors I felt so happy.

Lily's Avatar Should have changed the settings to pick out the wispy bits better, but was in a hurry to get the picture before everything changed.

Withy Brook's Avatar Horrid though our weather can be, its upside is that it is always changing. I lived for 4 years in Singapore, where the sun is shining every morning when you wake, but the humidity is up to 90 along with the temperature. I used to long for the variations of our climate at times.
A lovely evocative picture, by the way.

Fennie's Avatar Yes,. a lovely picture, Lily. Drenching rain in the night. Woke everyone up. Big heavy clouds this morning, but bright and fresh.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar Even when the weather is nice a small shower can be so refreshing and I love the wet earthy smell you get after summer rain.

Mountainear's Avatar Last week's weather was blissful. Have to admit I love watching the mist swirling up our Dingle and twisting and winding in front of the wood. Sad news is that the wood will be felled very soon and our (hopefully) short term view will be less beautiful.

Camilla's Avatar Hi Lily,

Lovely photo you have shared with us, where do you live Lily? I live in Norfolk and we had three and half months of rain too before the first heatwave here last week. Now the weather has been much cooler and thunderstorms yesterday. Mind you, don't like it too hot I would settle for a gentle warm sun with a tiny cool breeze.Smile
