Cowart's Common Room
Second Home? I wish.

Uploaded Image

Not a second home but a medieval Devon longhouse which we visited today. The long, low houses originally were divided by a cross passage. To one side lived the family and to the other lived their animals. This is possibly the only near original example remaining, other remaining ones having been modernised into homes for today's families.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar Very similar to our Highand Blackhouses except they have a heather roof, I love the little roundel of thatch over the door.
I wouldn't mine one either.

Faith, that sounds just like my Mum and Dad!Very Happy

Withy Brook's Avatar My younger brother lived in one for some time, but it had been added to etc. Full of low doorways and steps and bits that were more modern. I loved it. Sadly it is where his marriage finally disintegrated, so the end memories are sad.
