Can anyone help?
My daughter wants me to knit her a retro mohair jumper 1980's style (big and baggy to wear over leggings). I have an old pattern that is for Hayfield 80% luxury mohair. The tension required is 19 sts and 28 rows ro 4in(10 cm) on 6mm needles. I have looked on the internet but it isn't easy! Any advice please! Thanks. ( oh I need it in nice bright fancy colours too!)

Re:
Ivy's Avatar Have you tried http://www.laughinghens.com they may be able to help. Otherwise e-bay is often a good source for yarns too.

Re:
KitKatCot's Avatar I can recommend a shop near me. They do online ordering and the owner is very good with suggestions for wool. You could email her with any thing you need to know. The shop is Buttons and Bowes, Barnard Castle, just google it and it should be the first link that comes up.

Camilla's Avatar Hi Vic,

Have a look at the link here too, see there are also some gorgeous styles for knits. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see pics of different styles. Wish I was a knitter.!

Classic Elite Yarns

Best of luck Vic.

Re:
Mountainear's Avatar Husband has a bright red mohair jumper - knitted for him in about 1983. Still very wearable but beginning to go at the cuffs. Doubt if I'll get him to relinquish it though!

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar Pity I didn't see this before I left home although I wouldn't have had time to look and my collection of knitting patterns going back decades is in our storage unit anyway.
I also have a stock of brightly coloured Phildar mohair. Can you wait until August?

Vic's Avatar Thanks for all the help. I have messaged Buttons and Bowes and another shop to see if they can help.
