Cowart's Common Room
Hoax phonecalls

Today I've had 3 hoax phone calls, when someone with possibly an Indian accent and 'call centre' noises in the background either laughs hysterically, makes cat noises or tells me I've got arthritis, gangrene and I'm having too much 'humpy humpy'. Anyone else had these recently? Not scarey, more strange and annoying - but there is no number to trace.

Re:
Ivy's Avatar I always thought call centres were monitored and calls were recorded. So they couldn't just call anybody without being told to do so. Maybe school children?

Re:
Lampworkbeader's Avatar Not school children - more an older man's voice with women laughing in the background. Very odd. The background noise sounds like a very busy office.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar If you dial back 1471 on your phone Lampie you will be able to know what time the call was even though no number came up, but of course if you had any calls from others personally to you after this than you won't be able to know the number on 1471 as it always tells you the last caller. Always good to log down the time and date of that call just in case any other hoaxes.

Hope you get it sorted with Toady's link.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Never had anything like that - calls from India are either trying to sell me something, or take over my computer - how bizarre.
