Cowart's Common Room
I CAN'T SLEEP CHAT POST

Good Evening Owls,

A lazy sort of day, must be all those bolly's and cocktails on Friday night.Smile

My book reserve at Library has finally arrived, will be interesting to see how book fairs, never read any previous literature by Julian Barnes. I do believe he was once a scholar in Creative Writing at University of East Anglia here.

I have almost finished Letters to Monica edited by Thwaite ( the Poet - Larkin's executor.) I shall miss reading this large book of letters.

My new baby granddaughter had her first swimming lesson yesterday with my son and his partner with a watchful eye of a swimming instructor too. Good idea I think to get chilldren used to the water, and from the picture my son sent me granddaughter looks a sweetie in her Splish Splash bathing trunks aged nearly 4 months.Smile

Enjoy the rest of your birthday celebrations Rosie.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar Splish Splash indeed- what a great start to feeling comfortable in the water It's so important and I guess it's never too early to start! Our city has a program that provided free swimming lessons to every 3rd grader- totally free. Hopefully it will never be the victim of budget cuts.

Lucky you to get your book from the library- I think that there are still 150 people in front of me. We had a bit of a lazy day too- the only real accomplishment was picking up my daughter and her friend from the airport. They had spent the week in Napa Valley seeing his family and friends and tasting wine. Filling up their suitcases with it too. I've had her squawky conures for the week so before we dropped them at home- we picked up the birds. It's so peaceful now.

Jack had fun on both of his walks- I think that all of the dogs have spring fever,
Sweet dreams, owls and larks.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I shall buy it from Amazon, I think. I have a number of Barnes' books. And then lie in a deckchair in the summer sunshine with a cool glass of white wine to read it; or perhaps I might read it at the Mill when we go in late May. As the Mill is on the market again, the title, may be most apt.

Love the Chopin and the picture reminds me of my daughters playing in those happy seaside sands. Now the next generation is already rushing down to the water. Faster and faster seems to turn the wheel of life.
