As the daylight hours lengthen- so do the ornamentation cabbages begin their stretch to the sky. This one has just begun. we've had steady rain here and the ground is saturated- more rain forecast. Shipping news.

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar Yes, we did. I sat in the dark conservatory for an hour watching Rufus trying to catch a rat in the back garden. I shall have to stop feeding the birds again.:-Crying or Very sad

Withy Brook's Avatar We could do with some of your rain in the UK, much as I love the dry and warmth. We have drought conditions in much of England and even some of Wales.
My brother watches rain falling on the Brecon Beacons while they, in the Black Mountains, are in drought.

Fennie's Avatar What a wonderful cabbage. Did you know that purple cabbages aren't attacked by cabbage white butterflies? The colour in the cabbage enters the caterpillar and they become easily visible and so picked off by birds.

Also that before WW hit on the name Purple Coo, this site was to have been called Purple Cabbage?

Westerwitch's Avatar Laughing yes I can see it now Purple Cabbage . . .

Actually the name Purplecoo and the domain name existed long before Purplecoo came about - it was always a name looking for the right place to be and it found it . . .

Westerwitch's Avatar PS no completely forgot to take part - I think it is a wonderful idea and sorry that I didn't. But it got tainted for me when one year I signed up and later got a high pressure call from the WWF trying to get me to give them money. I complained about the sales tactics and was told 'tough that is how it is' Evil or Very Mad

Fairy Nuff's Avatar Yup we lit our candles and snuggled up heatingless on the sofa...could do with the snow and rain forecast to dampen down the Moorland here we've had no end of heath fires in the last month.
