Cowart's Common Room
The Weather drama contiues

We no longer hold cental stage in Northumberland as Scotland has come rushing ahead with huge snow falls. Even WW had her drama last night with B & B guests. We have had a heavy fall overnight, with thunder about. They are telling us to stay at home if possible. Tomorrow, they say it will blow, so then we may not have a choice. Our narrow road fills in only too easily.
How are the rest of you?

Re:
Arosebyanyothername's Avatar Just frozen remnants here but it is still freezing so you have to be careful when walking on icy patches. Geraniums left ih the porch have suffered and I have shut the dog flap to keep the kitchen warm. Otherwise the day is bright and sunny.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Rosie has beaten me to it. I have to go into Cardiff later but the roads are pretty clear. It may snow this evening, though, we are told. Something is moving in from Cornwall and it's only a short hop across the water once it starts moving up the peninsula. We don't have a dog flap (or a dog) but if we did we should batten it down too. (The flap not the dogRolling Eyes)

Re:
KitKatCot's Avatar Bad here again today. It was blizzard conditions first thing when I was supposed to be going to work. Then the sun came out and the snow plough came through the village. I decided I had better make the effort to try and get in. Had a shower -all ready- now it's snowing again Grrr.

I have phoned work and only those who live close enough to walk have made it. Even those on bus routes have been waiting for ages but no sign of a bus. Think I'll just hang around the Commom Room for a while.

Re:
Salle de Bain's Avatar Definitely best to stay home unless you absolutely have to travel...don't you think?

It snowed most of the night, but the sun is out now. Schools are closed, and many bus routes are cancelled. I know it's an inconvenience and a hazard, but I do love being snowbound. It can bring out the child in us again don't you think? As long as all are safe, and the larder & the woodstore are well stocked...I don't actually mind!

Re:
Preseli Mags's Avatar It isn't snowing here but everything is frozen solid - including the water supply. B had missed a bit when he was insulating the new pipes. It was only about an inch, but it froze. Hair dryer thawed it out and it's now well insulated. Rolling Eyes

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar KKC you stay tight and snug. No weather for going out. Schools closed etc etc. I should think the A68 is closed isn't it?

Re:
Snow fell on Saturday morning and is still here. Hard frost before and after that. Intermittent fog and b****y frozen pipes for the livestock and very cold fingers again..
I love summer

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar Welcome KitCatCot. Cute name. Withy I need you here to-day, as I am trying to whittle my books, as the house is bursting with them. It makes me sad to part with some of them, but what am I keeping them all for? I must be insecure. My brilliant painter is able to come in to work for me this week, as he can't get to his client in Wicklow because of the snow. He is doing 5 more ceilings and the rest of the glosswork that needs to be done.I'm thrilled to bits. I don't mind being house bound, as I am on a decluttering bender, and the place is blitzed.
