Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar It has been snowing alot here today . . .

There should be trees in the background of this picture - but we have pretty much had a white out all day and getting worse all the time.

So we went down to the end of our track to clear it. The snow ploughs tend to pile it all on to the entrance making it hard to get in and out . . .

Uploaded Image

HS manfully did the digging and I helpfully took pictures . . .

And the road was quiet down towards Killin . . .

Uploaded Image

And up towards Glen Ogle

Uploaded Image

So clearing done we went for a wee drive up to Glen Ogle

Uploaded Image

We got as far as the top of Glen Ogle and thought YIKES time to go home . . .

Uploaded Image

So we did . . . driving our track very carefully

Uploaded Image

The trees were swaying in the wind (still are)

Uploaded Image

The bush was looking smugly gorgeous . . .

Uploaded Image

And the Mirror man mysterious

Uploaded Image

And all the time the snow was falling harder and harder . . .

Uploaded Image

This was all around 2.30 - 3.00 . . . we have about nine inches of snow with no sign of it stopping and the forecast is for it to get heavier Shocked

So here we are snug and warm with no need to go anywhere . . . top up any one Very HappyVery Happy: Having to keep reminding myself that this is only November.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Only lying snow here although yesterday snow was forecast here tonight. Snug here, but I'll have another glass if you've got one. Just had all the thesps over for lunch. Rosiue said she didn't know when she had laughed so much. Minus 8 on the car thermometer. Fire burning brightly. Marvellous pictures. Nine inches. Nine inches! And still snowing. Did you know an inch of snow equals a foot of rain - or is it the other way about - hic!

Re:
Ivy's Avatar They cancelled school for all "out girls" at daughter's school tomorrow (boarders will have lessons thoug if teachers will be able to turn up) and one of her friends is stuck at home not being able to fly back to Scotland as Edinburgh airport is closed and even if she made it there, nobody would be able to pick her up. I think you better get your winter tyres fixed ( or buy some if you don't own any) here they are compulsory from next week and getting caught without will be pretty expensive. But most people have them on anyway.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Ah but I love this weather Blossom.

Yikes Ivy . . . We don't have winter tyres, but we do have a winter car. The vovlo has hysterics and spins tyres in a hussy fit in this weather, whilst the Rav looks smug and prances lightly past the Volvo . . .Rolling Eyes

Re
Silverhead's Avatar We're totally snowed in too. It's wonderful now that there's no need for us to venture out.

It wasn't so good when we were working. My job meant we had to ensure older people had food, heating etc. Now someone else has to see to it and I'm glad it's not me!!

Re:
Frances's Avatar Wow, each and every one of these snow scenes is so beautiful, whether showing tranquility,or someone hard at it, clearing a roadway.

Just amazing that you all have got this weather and we still are in autumn mode. I usually think that we pass along various weather patterns...floating them across the pond.

Please do be careful all of you, who do have to get out and about! xo

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar That is a lot of snow WW. Love the pictures. It is the coldest here since I was a child. Usually don't get snow here in Dublin, but this is the 2nd year, so the Winters are obviously getting colder. It is minus 6 here tonight, and more snow forecast.
