Cowart's Common Room
WHERE BE THE OWLS?

I think i\I was ssound asleep; now I'm uwake?

Are there anee Owls around? I don;t see of here any.

Weel, OK. I'll just sit here for a for a few minutes and try to gather my thoughts.

Right. This is the Owl post, over which Chief Owl, Camilla, or Deputy Chief Owl, Frances, usually presides. As Chief Minder, I simply wandered in to check on my charges Tiddles (the computerized cat), our solar Clock, and Deputy Chief Minder Max, who keeps the Skool running. They're all fine, thank you very much.

But where are the Owls? Please, send in the Owls! If you cannot sleep, this is a wonderful place to sit and have tea, or cocoa, or something Scottish (like Scotch), and to natter away to your heart's content. It's a marvellous place for learning entirely new things, and meeting the most interesting people.

Re:
Well, Miss Sadie and I have been out looking for Owls, without success.

Oh, dear, goodness! Not an auspicious development in the least.

What's a Bear to do, even with the help of Her Ladyship, Miss Sadie?

Not auspicious, at all!

Re:
You can see what shape I'm in. Our Clock is not solar, it's lunar. Like Owls. It operates on moonglow.

Poor Bear is befuddled.

It is, after all, the seasons when I should be hibernating. Twice I've settled down for the winter; twice I've been awakened by a premature rising of the solar alarm clock.

What's a Bear to do when he can't hibernate?

Well, he could come and natter with the Owls. But there are no Owls tonight.

At least not yet.

Perhaps a cheery tune.

Re:
Since we're coming up on the First Sunday of Advent, perhaps something seasonal.

"O Little Town of Bethlehem," by Sarah McLachlan.

You'll need Flash Player for this.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Bear, you are a fine owl!

Wish I could have landed here earlier.

I have got my Advent calendar read for the first of December. I do love this tradition. Also like Sarah McLachlan's voice.

Hope to see you, Camilla, and lots of owls tomorrow night. xo

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Hello Bear and Frances,

Thank you kindly Bear for setting the owl post up for us. Very late here and it is still snowing, and it is set to continue appararantly. I have had a very stressful evening....long story, have just poured myself a large glass of brandy, thus might aneasthatise my brain.!

Son sadly will not be able to make it to Norfolk this weekend, was so looking forward to seeing him too.

Thank you for the pretty tune Bear, so love this.

Hope the sales at shop is going well Frances.
