Cowart's Common Room
I CAN'T SLEEP CHAT POST

Hello Owls,

No snow has arrived yet, but it is raining heavily at the moment, extremely cold too.

Pleased to say that Daisy is a little better this evening after that trip to the Vet, shall post a message in the Forums.

Have just made a hot cuppa and off to take a tour, hope to see an owl or two later.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Oh, I say, Camilla; that is the ideal Owl perch!

Those hanging thingamies might frighten away a less stalwart Owl, but Cowart's Owls are stalwart if any there be.

Camilla's Avatar Such a tragic sadness of the New Zealand Miners, my hearts and thoughts are with their family's and loved ones.

And the child getting ready for Advent or Christmas, a delightful picture as well!

Re:
Haven't heard about the New Zealand miners, though I did hear initial reports about the incident. I guessing from your comments that none of them survived,

Dreadful pity. Crying or Very sad

Re:
Continuing snow (off and on) in our part of the colony. About -21C (-6F) today. Yes, its still a bit fresh. Bracing. Invigorating. Da**ed cold! Just doesn't let up!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Bear, there was a second explosion, no survivors at all, so terribly sad. Think there was also two people from Scotland who were in the mine too.

Re:
Well, as long as the lanterns aren't too bright. Remember, Owls move in the dark!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Bear, just popping over to the forums, back soon.

Hope you have the heater going to stay warm, yes soo cold.

Re:
Oh dear. Sad

The life in the mines is a hard one. Always has been. Especially with coal, and the gas. One job I wouldn't want to do! (Besides, I'd be claustrophobic on the first day.)

BTW, which forum, Camilla?

Camilla's Avatar Back again...... Bear, on the Animals Forums.

Good to hear you and Miss Sadie are toasty with the heater going. Daisy is snuggled up on sofa with her blankets.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Wondering what caused the explosion Bear, yes I would have claustrophobia too.

Glad to hear that Daisy is doing better, even though she's on tablets. Sadie and I both send our best.

Heading out to an Irish dance recital. Our daughter is in it.

Hope to see you tomorrow night.

Sleep well, good Owls!

Sorry I missed you, Frances. We're just heading out. A demain? as the French would say.

TTFN.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Camilla, I will pop over to the forum you wish to find out more about Daisy. Hoping that she will be out for a walk tomorrow even if there's snow.

Bear, I cannot believe that your part of Canada has already had such cold weather! Wow.

Here in NYC, we are hoping that predicted rain holds off until the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Not sure if I will be awake early enough to find a good spot to view the parade. It begins up in my neighborhood, and so in theory I should be able to have a grand view. (Sorry, but a day off means no alarm clock, so I usually end up joining the crowd well after that crowd has assembled.

Re:
Frances's Avatar How can this be? Once again I have missed the opportunity to share the perch with other owls.

Yes, Bear. A demain.

Sweet dreams to you all. xo

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar Happy Thanksgiving Day Frances. Enjoy the Parade. Not celebrating this year, as I have painter coming in tomorrow to paint the hall, stairs and Landing. Big Job, but I want to start next year well organized. On a wild clearing and tidying bender at the moment. The holiday gave me time to think about things that stress and irritate me, or need to be changed, revamped or upstaged. Hope Daisy is feeling better. Weather wet and cold, so good time to be occupied. Couldn't bear the thoughts of snow. Hope your cards are coming along well. They are so pretty. I have the one you sent me framed.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Tiggy, I am delighted not to have missed you!

Yes, the card painting is always fun, and I need to keep it going at a relaxed, easy pace.

Rain might fall on tomorrow's parade. If the sky looks wet (and cold) when I wake up, I might just give the parade a miss. Although, I have been there as snow flakes fell.

Best wishes to you Tiggy. xo

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar I'd prefer snow to rain, but if it does rain, you can snuggle up at home. I'm trying to sort my craft and hobby things so that I can get to them more easily. I miss having a hobbies room so much, and have abandoned the idea of converting part of the loft. I'm trying to make the storage in our dressing Room/Tigger's study/ Nursery more effective, and have managed to get all my boxes of photos in there. I am bringing my scanner printer up there too so I can start going through old photo's and scan the ones I like on to my laptop. That should be fun, and something I've wanted to do for yonks.
