Cowart's Common Room

I heard a rumour, recently, that there were no more Owls at Cowart's Skool. I was frankly suspicious. This was, after all, a "usually un-reliable source." Need I say more?

But just to be sure, I thought I would check. Miss Sadie is snoozing in the wing-backed chair not far from the gas stove, so she is here (just sleeping). I'll look about the Skool, and if there be no Owls, I'll rouse Miss Sadie and we'll do our usual search.

If you're awake, and you need something to do, like natter away to your heart's content, this is the ideal place to do it.

In the meantime, if you'd like something musical, here's an old song by Air Supply.

You'll need flash player to hear it.

Good evening, Tiggywinkle. How are you tonight, having lost all that weight>

Posted by: Rob-bear on 24th Nov 2010 at 12:35AM

Right. Miss Sadie is roused. I have my Deerstalker hat, etc. We're off in search of Owls.

If you arrive, let out a loud "Hoot," and we'll be back presently.

Otherwise, we'll be back a little less presently.

Oh, dear! After one o'clock, and still no Owls.

Perhaps my source was correct. Sadie and I will set out in a different direction.

On our last journey, I stopped by to check on Max, Tiddles, and the clock. Everything is in good order, as I suspected. So, no need to re-cover that territory.

Camilla's Avatar Good Evening Bear,

Thank you kindly for setting the perch up for us owls, actually already morning here, hoping to get a better nights sleep than on Monday night, HL was snoring for England...... Rolling Eyes

Pats to Miss Sadie, I am to take Daisy to the Vet later today, she is not at all herself lately, no energy whatsoever, but she is still wet nose and waggy tail.

Thanks for the music link Bear, shall go take a look.

What a delightful picture, Camilla. I wish I could find such treats for the Owls when I arrive early.

Sorry Miss Daisy is out of sorts. Miss Sadie sends licks and best wishes. Bear does, too.

Dreadful day, here. Temperature at -24C (-11F) when we were out and about this afternoon.

We took Miss Sadie with us. She rode like a Lady in the back of the car, too. And as were were in shops for about 10 - 15 minutes at a time, or less, she never got cool, let alone cold. Good traveller she is; likes to see what's happening in the world. Good people-watcher.

Well, do let us know about your "baby's" health tomorrow night. I do hope she'll be fine.

Sadly, over here, every time it rains, it rains acid from heaven. All the air pollution from the US drifts north, comes down with the rain, dumping acid in our many lakes, particularly in Eastern Canada. There are now many lakes which no longer have fish because the water is so acidic.

Camilla's Avatar I have put up a post in the forums re Daisy, yes will let you know how Daisy gets on, she did not even want her walkies yesterday,ah, but then it was raining, she loathes the rain.

Ah, Miss Sadie is a good traveller in car, I used to have other dogs who used to bark at every person going by when they were in car with me. It will be interesting to learn if Daisy will be barking when she gets to the vet later today, as she usally does(at other dogs), if so, then at least she has not lost her sparkle.Smile

Yes, very cold here too Bear, and we are to have snow by later this morning, wondering if I will see a white morning when I awake.!

My goodness; almost 8:00 p.m. over here. And I have a report from the University to review, with responses due by noon tomorrow.

I'm going to have to trundle off, and I'm sure Miss Sadie is gong to come with me.

With any luck, I'll be back around midnight tomorrow.

Sleep well, good Owl(s)!

Camilla's Avatar Very sad about that acid in lakes Bear, I worry about the environment with pollution to the fish and wildlife. It upset me when I heard about the spill of oil in waters a while ago.
