Cowart's Common Room

This scam has been around for a little time but I've just had a new warning and with Christmas around the corner......

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number).

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed 315 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then you are asked to please contact Royal Mail fraud on 0207239 6655

Toady's Avatar Thanks Fennie. What I don't understand is if RM know it's a scam why don't they just cut the number off?

Preseli Mags's Avatar Just had a call from B at work (police HQ) warning about this too. So plausible and too easy to get caught out by this one. Thanks Fennie.

Fennie's Avatar Take the point but presumably the number is changed regularly.

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar This is a HOAX.
The scam did exist but was stopped in 2005. With all of these scams, if you just google the name you can find out the details.
In this case google PDS scam and all will be revealed.
