Cowart's Common Room

Wondering where other owls might be this evening. For a change, I am landing at an earlier hour.

Lovely day off, during which I got lots of errands done, enjoyed the very fine weather, bought three giant apples at the farmers market and made another yummy apple crumble, and...knit a Christmas present start to finish!

At eleven eleven this morning I had my remembrance silent time. How I wish that we humans could just grow up and not have any more violence or wars. What is the point of such struggle?

Frances's Avatar Looks like an empty perch, and so I am going to head off for the land of nod.

Working late tomorrow, and possibly also on Saturday.

Looking forward to a big catch up eventually when our flight patterns coincide. xo

Fennie's Avatar I think many of us think that Frances. Yet the factors that lead to conflict are well known and what has to be done to prevent conflict is also well known. What's more conflict prevention is far cheaper than conflict resolution or peacemaking. But on the principle that there is never enough time to do something properly but always enough time to do it over, we let conflicts start before doing anything.

What prevents conflict: literacy, education, and end to poverty, employment, transparency and good communications, democracy, enlightened management of minority issues, gender equality and human rights. All relatively simple things.

Hear hear on your view re wars Frances, how wonderful it would be if we had Peace in this world, somehow I can't see that happening sadly.
