Cowart's Common Room
Marathon, time change

Uploaded Image

Today yet another New York City marathon was run. I ventured over to the edge of Central Park, near the finish line to take some photos of the aftermath.

What tenacity and dedication these runners have!

I am just trying to figure out how to adapt to this morning's switch over from daylight savings time to standard time.

Don't much like the idea of darkness before 5 pm.

Hoping to see owls later on.

Fennie's Avatar It's not too bad at first - cosy, curtain drawing evenings, hot soups and your lovely jacket potatoes. But the dark evenings become so tedious after Christmas. You'll just have to fly down to the sun, Frances. Can you not persuade your managers to open another shop in Florida?

Westerwitch's Avatar Ah I am loving the dark nights and mornings . . .Very Happy feel so guilty when I say that - but it will soon be lighter again.

Salle de Bain's Avatar I always look forward to passing the 21st December, as it's all uphill from then on...

New York looks so fabulous in the winter time atmospheric...dark evenings, lots of lights. Your snow looks nicer than most too, if that makes any sense
