Frances's Avatar Camilla, I know how much you must be looking forward to this weekend!

Rainy almost all day in New York ... and this has revealed that we still do have that troublesome leaking skylight above the shop.

Early morning meeting, and late afternoon birthday celebration for a staff member gave us some other things to think about besides our usual routine. Instead of a birthday cake, I went to the birthday girl's favorite local spot and got a delicious apple, cranberry tart ... also filled with spices and brown and golden raisins. Also...just for birthday girl to take home for herself and friends, a chocolate, almond, pear tart. Sublime.

Camilla's Avatar Catchy little tune..... I heard this only recently, best of luck to those lads. First album, they were originally painters and decorators, they were spotted by a music scout when they were singing in their lunch break one day..... Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances, thank you.

Yes, very much looking foward to seeing my family, with the rain falling Frances, do hope that skylight can be fixed before the winter sets in. Hope the Meeting went well, what better present than a apple and cranberry tart for birthday girl. Reminds me of when I worked in London and for my birthday work colleagues and I went to St James Park for cake and pop.!

Frances's Avatar A catchy tune indeed.

Hoping that you will have grand weather for your weekend guests. Will you all be enjoying your village, home and garden or going further afield?

Frances's Avatar Camilla, just for the record ... what is your favorite (or even favourite) cake ... birthday or otherwise?

Camilla's Avatar The weather forecast for Norfolk is windy and rainy later today (Friday), Saturday should be fine weather, Sunday.... not so good. Whatever the weather we shall wrap up warm, hoping to take a trip out to Holkham Beach which has beautiful sands and was the scene for the end of the film - Shakespeare In Love with Gwyneth Paltrow.

The gardens Frances are full of leaves at the moment, the more I clear the more they come tumbling down. It gets dark by 4pm now, so wan't to make use of the daylight as much as possible.

How are those fabby socks coming along Frances?

Frances's Avatar Got it, Camilla ... that cake choice!

My sock knitting has taken a little break, but I did finish my green scarf due to be a Christmas gift for someone.

Please do head off for that marvelous land of nod, Camilla. I do remember that last film scene. I saw that movie in a preview screening, without all its final finishing touches. Knew it would be a winner.

Sweet dreams to you.

Behold, the late Bear is lately arrived.

Ah history; the stuff of which we are made.

"Remember, remember, the Fifth of November!"

"A penny for the old Guy?"

Still a "bang-up occasion." Fireworks anyone?

We were coming back across Channel on ferry, it was very choppy, force 8 winds, at one point felt terrible, but went up on deck to blow away the cobwebs and improves, nearly got washed off the deck though!

Camilla's Avatar I was just going to post a card last night while I was here on the owl post, then my PC completely froze, could not get access at all. Moi not being techy minded rang my son this morning and he said..... take out all the old batteries in your mouse and place new ones in....... hey presto.! it's working!

Sorry I could not wave all the owls night night.
