Cowart's Common Room
WHERE BE THE OWLS?

'Tis long past Owling time, and the only creatures in sight are a Bear and a Poodle.

Alas.

Well, then. You know, of course. . . . Deerstalker hat, magnifying glass, binoculars, etc., etc.

TTFN.

I'll let you know if I see any Owls.

Re:
I've seen several owls, but couldn't entice them to come to the Owl perch.

Actually, I think they were asleep when I found them.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Helloooo to you, Bear, and to that poodle, too.

I was around here earlier, and then did a long click-about blog land.

So grey and rainy here in NY today. Even so, it was a day off, and I slipped though lots and lots of errands, grocery getting, apartment cleaning, and also had long phone calls to my mom and to one of my brothers.

And a little relaxing crocheting.

Radiators are emitting gentle heat ... welcome because it will be very chilly overnight.

How was your day?

Re:
Hello, Frances! So glad you have arrived.

I had a bit of a sleepy day today. Slept poorly last night, a bit dozy during the day. After supper, went out into the yard and spent time cleaning up brush and stuff, and burning a fair amount in our fire place. Must say it does look better.

Glad you had a good day off.

We spent part of our day looking at things Italian. Our daughter is off to Italy this week; she'll spend ten days there with a friend. We've decided to take a sort of virtual trip there with her, and consume some Italian cuisine in the process.

Catching up on some e-mail and some reading now.

Wondering what sort to crocheting project you're undertaking.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hoping to see you again this evening, Bear. I like the idea of your having a bit of Italy at home.

My crochet/knit projects are all over the apartment. Some scarves are nearly done, some socks and scarves are about half-way there.

Hello Camilla!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances and Bear.!

Thank you kindly Bear for getting the perch going for us, I have just awoken from that comfy sofa again.....and in need of some caffeine, kettle is on the boil.

Bear, think we should call you Sherlock Bear from now on.! thank you.

I must catch up on blog land too Frances, pleased to hear you had a day off despite that not so good weather, good to catch up too with your dear Mom and one of your Brothers.

Shall look forward to seeing the end result of that lovely crochet in perhaps your future blogs Frances.

Cold and wet day here too, it's about the twelve day of rain so far apart from last Thursday when it was dry.

Lots of errands done this morning, then appointments later, and writing of birthday cards and letters in the evening, cooked a vegetable curry for supper.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Good to see you, Camilla, and your autumn picture with those coppery leaves by a path and a stream is lovely.

What sorts of veg did you have in that curry? I haven't made an actual curry in ages, though I do use some curry-related spices now and then.

This day has flown past. It will soon be time to get ready for work again.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Coffee at the ready, thank you Frances, just put in what I had to hand Frances. Broccoli, red onions, peppers, tomatoes, chic peas, celery, curry stock powder spice for liquid, and mushrooms, served on bed of rice, with green side salad and crusty bread.! I am going without meat most days and feel better for it, although do eat lots of fish.

Days alway go so quick I found when days off, when is your next vacation Frances?

Re:
Frances's Avatar Camilla, that vegetable combination must have both looked and tasted wonderful! Thank you for the inspiration.

I hope to have three days off in a row this coming weekend. I'll have to reconfirm this as reality tomorrow.

It is so late for you now, Camilla.

Also think that Bear might have slipped away to tend to dinner et al.

And so, I'll bid you owls a good evening and sweet dreams.

Hoping to see you all tomorrow. xo

Camilla's Avatar Oh Frances, bet those scarves and socks crochets look lovely, can imagine all that gorgeous wool and yarns.

How lovely for your daughter to be going to Italy, Bear. I would love to go to Florence, maybe one day.

Sorry to hear you did not have a good nights sleep last night Bear, hope you get a good night's sleep tonight, perhaps a dash of the ol whiskey in night drink may help.

Lots of yummy pasta for italian, can you speak the language fluently Bear?
