Cowart's Common Room
I CAN'T SLEEP CHAT POST

Hello Owls,

Good to be back on the perch with you, felt completely out of salts on Tuesday night, sorry for not making it to the perch. Big thank you to dear Frances and the Bear for their kindness in putting up the posts.

Yesterday was the last day of Summer, I for one shall greet the next season of Autumn with it's colours of mellow fruitfulness.!

Have just made a brew and off to take a tour of the site, see you later owly's.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Hark! There be Owls here.

Actually, an Owl and a Bear (as opposed The Owl and the Pussy-Cat, whose tale is told by Edward Lear). And a Poodle. Quite the threesome we are.

Bear has had an uncomfortable day, but has still made time to try some things with his new camera. Can't say I'm happy with the pictures. It's been a grey day, and I've been shooting in a fully automatic mode (the mode which I least prefer), just as a way of discovering what I can do with my new tool. Haven't even bothered to load anything into the computer, as the pictures are so poor. (I'm very definitely out of practice this is not good!) Tomorrow, I'll try some more different things. Got some wash done, kitchen cleaned, shopping all the regular things of life.

Other than that, not much to report. My Beloved, J, and Her Sadieship are in good health. Bear is "all right for the shape he's in."

What happened in your day, Owls?

(p.s.: Frances said last night her hours today at the shop might keep her away from the Owl Perch. So sad when work gets in the way of living.)

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Hello Bear.!

So sorry, did not know it was your birthday on Sunday, have entered the date into my book.... I am the card monitor.

Happy belated birthday to you Bear.! have posted a card for you.

So sorry to hear you have had uncomfortable day, hoping the days ahead will be kinder for you.

Best of luck with the new camera, I am not a David Bailey when it comes to camera's, but would love to pursue photography more for a hobby.

Sorry to have missed Frances, just wish for her not such long hours at the shop.

Moi, mainly work and domesticity, chief owl yearning for more creativity.

Hello Tiggy.!

Re:
Oh, good; Camilla's back.

Bear's birthday was on Friday, but Sunday was the best day to celebrate as in the best time to get the whole family together. So that's what we did. (Posted a pic yesterday from the party.)

Now I'm in the "golden age" of life the age in which I give my gold to the doctors. Sigh! Rolling Eyes

Things are changing quite rapidly, We've had several days of overnight frost, so autumn has indeed arrived.

I'm going to try to post more autumnal pictures in the next few days.

Re:
I'm afraid I'm going to fall asleep at the keyboard and bang my head against the computer. (Just thinking about that is painful!) So had better log off before I doze off.

Tomorrow night, perhaps, Camilla.

Sleep well, good Owls.

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar Belated Happy birthday Bear. Lovely photo with your dear grand children. I am very busy trying to get ready for trip to Australia on 2 Oct. Have so much to organize business wise before I go, as I will close the business while I'm away. Tigger wouldn't be able to cope. Very busy this week with lovely guests. It's a twelve hour+ job a day, 7 days a week, so it will be luxury to switch off, spend time relaxing and being pampered. Thank God for my high energy level, that enables me to persue my interests and hobbies and take care of Tigger and Kevin. Kevin is doing well, and still off cigarettes. I am so proud of him. Muffin had a great day playing with her cousins from Calafornia, home for the wedding of my nephew next week. Tigger had tests done yesterday and to-day by a Neurologist specializing in tremor, as it has got worse, and seeing another neurologist about the short term memory problem. His future is worrying for both of us, but I feel I have now built up a great team to help diagnose and give me a prognosis, which I don't want to hear till I come home, regenerated. He is so good about me going to Australia, as he is not allowed to fly long distance. Have finished my sewing, have lost the weight I wanted, and back to the figure I had all my life. And thrilled to be off my blood pressure tablets, and back to normal blood pressure. I think that's all my news. Camilla, Have you recovered. I still haven't had time to do the garden, but will attack it at the weekend.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hello owls! It's great to see so many have landed on the perch tonight.

Bear, I wish you many happy returns!

Tiggy, you really are a marvel! I cannot imagine how you manage to fit all that you do into 24 hours. Please do give me lessons.

Camilla, I just love that picture on tonight's post. No full moon visible tonight, as a quick thunder storm passed through just as I emerged from the subway tonight. Well...at least it wasn't a tornado.

Tomorrow will be my really late nite at the shop. We'll be open for a special promo until 9. Hoping that we get to lock the door by 10 pm.

See you all Friday night.

Frances's Avatar Hmmm, I think that my owl pals might now have all flown off to dreamland.

Sweet dreams to you all. I will miss seeing you tomorrow.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Hello Tiggy,

Thank you, yes quite recovered, although I worry about my long-term future of uncertainty, long story as I think you probably know dear Tiggy. Sorry Tiggy, this sounds very selfish of me especially when you have your dear brother and hubby on your mind at the moment.

Pleased to hear Kevin is doing well and off the ciggies, brill news.! Sorry to hear about your husband, poor Tigger, a great worry for you both. I remember Tiggy you telling us about that great medical team, this will be so helpful for you but know how hard it must be for you. Will Tigger be going for respite while you are in Australia Tiggy?

Ah little Muffin will miss you when you go on holiday. Bet Muffin has got a pretty dress to wear to your nephew's wedding.

Well done with the diet Tiggy, I have lost loads but not intentional, now weighing in at 9st 3.

Did the gardens here the other day, so much to do, but hopefully gardener will be coming tomorrow to do the hedging which I cannot manage.

xx

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar Was watching out for the moon to-night Frances, but it is cloudy and raining after a beautiful sunny day. Frances, I just have a high energy level, always had, and it has never waned. With loosing the weight I put down to the menopause etc., instead of snacking and eating bread and cheese, I feel even better having my original figure back, and being medication free. Can't believe I've lost 17 lbs with 2 to go. It has been a slog, bit worth it.I was able to RUN up to collect Muffin from school to-day.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances.!

Good to see you before you hop into bed..... you work such long hours, wish you could reduce them although know this is not an easy choice.

Hope no more thunderstorms go by your way again this evening Frances, black as night here as soon be early twilight hours.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Hello Tiggy, see you on the perch.....I put on weight with menopause, was a size 16, but now I have gone down to size 10 trousers. Used to be size 12 before menopause.

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar Snap Camilla, that's the weight I am now. Tigger will be fine on his own. Mush, my sister and neighbour will watch out for him, and I have a lovely long term guest staying at the moment. Tigger & he get on really well, so he will have company which is a God send for me.
Little Muffin got a beautiful Ivory dress with little roses at the neckline and felt like a princess, for the wedding, but my sister thought it would take from the trainbearer, so it had to go back. I know she was so disappointed, but she just accepted it. She told me to-day she is not really over the moon about the dress she is going to wear, so I think I will have a mootch around to find something I know she would really like. She is such a good little girl, bless her little heart.
Camilla, you are always on my mind and on my prayer list, and I feel sorry life is so hard for you, when you are such a vivacious lady. Its great your children are so good to you. You must keep planning your little breaks. Having done it once, it will become easier. I would never be able to cope with my life, if I didn't. Keep your heart up and be kind to yourself.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Tiggy, I have just seen a lovely dress for Muffin, it is a vintage floral dress and shrug set aged 5/6 years and is only 18, am unable to post a pic but will PM you.

Good to know that Tigger will have your sister and a neighbour watch out for him while you are away.

Aw, bless you Tiggy, thank you, what a sweetie you are. I think I need someone to clobber me with a mallet, might knock some sense into me.!

Will let you know about Muffins dress.

Nite Tiggy.
