Cowart's Common Room
Stupid? moi?

Am feeling particularly stupid.

I've wrecked the new mower - driving over a plastic sheet with the blades still whirring I forgot to turn off those blades and got everything wound up till it all went crash-bang and stopped. Just when I was feeling efficient and getting jobs done in the garden too.

Husband was remarkably uncritical - mostly because it was the sort of thing he would do. That's something I suppose.

its not just you, both the iGit and I succeeded in doing something similar within 30 minutes of each other at the allotment, last weekend. I had been using a strimmer to clear the grass paths, and deal with some of the nettles by the hedge that I kept getting stung on, managed to get the mesh from the brassica cage wrapped around the whizzy bit, and it to an age to untangle. I resorted to using shears, when wouldnt you know it , iGit did exactly the same!

Hope the repair isnt too expensive, only just got our 25 year old Hayter back in action, having to wait for a similar machine to turn up on eBay so that we could scavenge parts and repair our!

Frances's Avatar Sympathies to you, Mountaineer...well, to Zoe, too.

My empathy comes from understanding how many a strong, perchance even industrial strength vacuum cleaner (hoover) can be brought down by a second's inattention in the shop.

I just wish that all these motorized devices had some sort of magic Reverse It All button.!

Fennie's Avatar Ahh! Still, hope it is repairable and worse things happen at sea!

Elizabethm's Avatar So sorry to hear this but glad I am not the only one to have these significant moments of inattention! Hope it doesn't cost the earth to sort out.
