Cowart's Common Room
Roller Coaster Ride

Eeeeek not ignoring you - it has been so mad recently . . . we have now finished the Open Studio . . . and getting ready for an exhibition . . .

Friday we went to a lovely ceremony at Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh - the ceremony was much smaller than Wildchild's at Dundee last year - but lots of pomp and ceremony and HS and I were very proud to see Robot Boy get his Honour's degree in Robotics and Cybertonics.

Now both Wildchild and Robot Boy are here so that we can be together as a family before Wildchild heads off to Australia for her next adventure . . . gulp . . .

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar You must be so proud to see them both on their way. Such an exciting time. Congratulations to Robot Boy. Get Wildchild to start taking Vit B 1 to help build up her system against the nasty biting bugs in Australia. 10 Feverfew drops in a glass of water every morning also helps. If she is prone to bites, you can buy arm and wrist bands for protection in Australia. It is worth doing this. I didn't last time and paid the price.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Thanks Tiggy will let her know . . . her departure is imminent.

Lampworkbeader's Avatar Congratulations to you all. Love Lampie

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Congratulations! You must be very proud. But yes, travel, travel, travel all you can. Though it seems a shame heading to the Australian winter from the sunniest summer we've had in many a long year. Couldn't she wait until September?

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar She has already waited Fennie to see her brother graduate and she is going for possibly up to two years so she will get to to see the winter eventually.

Re:
I hope those young'ns of yours have a dandy time.

Always wanted to go to Australia; never got there. Wanted to get to Wales, Iona, and Lindisfarne, too; not there either. Sad

Re:
Faith's Avatar Lots of proud moments for you recently WW!

Em had no worries with biting insects in Oz, so maybe Wildchild won't either - but of course take Tiggy's good advice.

Re:
Salle de Bain's Avatar How wonderful for you WW to have such dynamic kids...now all off to do interesting things with their lives. Could there be a future holiday in the offing for you I wonder? Are broomsticks designed for in-flight re-fuelling?

Never been bitten in Oz either...yet deB is always eaten alive. Strange thatConfused.

Re:
Congratulations to Robot Boy, and much success for the future.

It was all I could do this winter to stop little bird running off to Oz, with a lad from Edinburgh she had fallen head over heels for, they were commuting on the coach between Edinburgh and London to see each other - insanity! He is now emigrated to Oz, and Robyn's heart has healed. I think she eventually saw the sense of completing her degree, and if anything was worthwhile, it would wait. Kids Rolling Eyes

Hope you daughter has a fabulous time, understand the worries, letting go is so hard.

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar Good luck to both your young people. WW. I am sure Wild Child will have an amazing time - lucky her - but hard for you - the last apron string cut. What is Robot Boy's next step?
Biting things always go for me in preference to those around me, so she may be OK. How is she with your midges? Tiggy's advice is good.

Re:
CalicoKate's Avatar What locely news WW. Wild Child is a very brave girl! Wishing them both all the luck in the world for their adventures and ventures.

Re:
KittyB's Avatar Exciting times - well done to Robot Boy, that sounds like a very tough degree indeed! And 'you go girl!' to Wildchild. I know you'll miss her but - what a fabulous experience, and if she doesn't grab that opportunity while it's there, she may never get the chance again! I think there are many of us who wish we'd travelled when we were younger and free-er and happy to slum it a bit!

Re:
Dancing Dog's Avatar Congratulations to the entire family. Travel, travel, travel, do it while you're young and don't mind roughing it. Interesting field Robot Boy has chosen (I did wonder why he was called Robot Boy) what will he be doing with his degree?

Re
Silverhead's Avatar Well done all of you. You must feel very proud.
It will be great for wild child to get off on her travels and you are to be congratulated on this too. You have given her wings as well as roots.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Huge Congratulations to Robot Boy, you and HS must feel so proud. Best of luck too to Wildchild for her trip to Oz, it will be a fabulous opportunity for her. Can understand you will be worried for her Westerwitch, so hard to let them go.
