Cowart's Common Room
Blow a few trumpets .....

for The Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwth please.
You here so many horror stories of NHS hospitals but this one has gone out of its way twice in under 12 months to sort the junior shepherd out.
The first being within a few weeks of getting to uni when following a collapse they found that he had some rogue blood vessels which were the root of the problem - these have since been removed and boy does he know the difference!
Then at the weekend what had been diagnosed x 2 as tonsilitis was not reacting to antibiotics - in steps mother shepherd via ringing Ceridigion Care the out of hours Dr care - within 30 minutes he was in hospital on a drip having blood tests and forty five minutes later - glandular fever! The Dr's at the hospital were wonderful - absolutely brilliant.
If you ever have to cross the threshold of the Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth fear not - it may be a tad shabby, but it really is an amazing place!

Frances's Avatar Oh best wishes to you and to that now recovering junior shepherd.

As you might know, over here in the States we are now about to take some tiny baby steps towards the health coverage that you all have.

Until our baby steps are complete, it's pretty much you get what you can afford to pay for over here.

CalicoKate's Avatar It is such good news to hear good thing about the beleaguered NHS when we hear so much bad. The hosp B get First class A1* treatment in is incredibly shabby but Iíd rather they spent the money on brilliant nurses. Shame it canít be both though.
Sorry to hear though that you are having to avail yourselves of their services and I do hope that recovery is complete as soon as it can be.
