Cowart's Common Room
A Dryad for You!

Uploaded ImageI am so excited. Very Happy I was waiting by the fallen tree yesterday evening when I heard a rustle in the forest and turned round to see, some distance away - yes - a Dryad. he was bending down to tie his show laces. You can just see his back in the photograph behind the log. I had always imagined dryads to be a kind of greeny-brown but this one is sandy coloured. Perhaps he'd just been swimming in the little pool nearby and had taken off his clothes. I never saw his face for no sooner had I taken this photo than he heard the click of the camera and disappeared into the trees. Dryads are very shy.

Frances's Avatar Well done, Fennie. How wonderful that you just happened to have the camera ready at the right time to capture such a rare sighting.
