Cowart's Common Room
I CAN'T SLEEP CHAT POST

Hello to all the Owls.!

Luckily it did not rain so was able to get out into the gardens and do some work. Pleased to see the chinese wisteria is coming out, thought it would be another year without flowering after HL cut it back drastically a few years ago.Rolling Eyes

Have my cuppa and just going to take a tour before lamps out soon, another early night soon beckons me.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Hi Camilla . . . thank you. Arnie seems much better after 24 hours on the antibiotics. Spent the day moving Wildchild to a temporary flat before she sets off to Australia at the end of June - torn between very excited for her and yet going to be hard to wave her off. SM also not at all well - so a bit of an emotional roller coaster at the moment.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Hi WW, so sorry was just taking a tour........ so pleased to hear Arnie is much better after dose of antibiotics.

I can understand your worry for Wildchild setting off to Oz land even though excited for her too, I would be just the same Westerwitch. Hope Wildchild will be able to use perhaps Facebook to you over there, although I know it is not the same as seeing her in person.

Sorry WW, but who is SM? no need to write it here, think a large glass of brandy for you Westerwitch, such a worrying time for you, but sure Wildchild will have a wonderful time and lovely experience for her to travel.

xx

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hello Camilla, and best wishes to WW on all fronts.

Camilla, I have left you a pm that might be even more confusing than some of my prior pms!

Hello Bear.

As you all know, I had an important meeting early this morning, and a bit of required follow up afterwards at the shop. Then I was able to come home to the remainder of my "day off" with a list of errands to run through. Got through the list.

Also got to have a bit of a catch-up with my gentleman admirer, whom I encountered in the basement laundry room. He is a good friend to me, and it was great to be able to confide in someone so soon after this rather challenging morning.

Had a nap this afternoon. Back to work tomorrow. xo

Re:
We spent much of the day in the yard, trying to do something creative in our sand box (also known as our garden). It was in a terribly sorry state when we moved in, but then, we were both busy working. Now that we have time to work on it, we may have some success at turning a sow's ear into some kind of purse (though NOT silk).

How were your days, Frances and Camilla?

RE
Camilla's Avatar I tended to the gardens Bear, and my back knew it when I came in. The masonary paint will do another day, colour...... cottage suffolk pink on the outbuildings....... the main doors are pure white gloss.

Are you going to grow veggies in your garden Bear?

Re:
Rain was forecast for tomorrow. Now we're being promised cloudy and cool. So we can get in another part-day's work in the yard before another couple of rainy days.

Going to put some vegetables in the "kitchen garden" (new phrase I've discovered). Tomatoes, carrots, and the most religious of vegetables, lettuce (fondly recalled in the phrase, "Lettuce, pray"). Pumpkins and zucchini somewhere in the back yard.

Puffin, here's a phrase for you: "Be cool, but stay warm." Very Happy

And Tiggy's here! Good evening Tiggy.

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar Having landed on the perch, I realize I forgot post Thought for the day to-day. Worked most of the morning on the phone with my web designer. Not easy to redesign over the phone and by email, but we finally got it finished, and I am so pleased. It was worth all the hard work. Muffin loves her new garden room, and we bar-b-q'ed this evening. Having friends for lunch tomorrow. Doing fresh salmon Koulibiac with salad, and Choc au Rum for dessert. Bought 2 books I wanted in pristine condition in Charity shop for 2 Euroeach instead of 19 each. So had a really good day for a change.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Bear's Kitchen Garden has a good ring to it......lots of lovely veggies there, think those pumpkins might be good for future halloween night.

Be cool but stay warm........ love it.!Cool

Re:
To tell the truth, today was a bit of a snapgraggin day. Just before lunch, my back went, "snap," and my tail began draggin.

Bit of a pain working out web details over the phone, I agree, Tiggy. Glad you're pleased with the results. And books @ 2 instead of 19 is "a good thing." Absolutely.

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar It's a great challenge to start a new garden, Bear. Camilla good luck with your painting. I have almost finished mine. Nothing like fresh paint for a lift. WW was referring to her stepmother who is most unwell. Seem to have missed Puffin, and Frances.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Pleased to hear you had a great day Tiggy, those books sound a real bargain. Ah, bet Muffin will have many happy play times in that new garden room.

Choc au Rum sounds soo yummy Tiggy. Enjoy your day tomorrow having friends over for lunch.

Re:
Had a look at your menu for tomorrow, Tiggy. I have no idea of what you're cooking, but it all sounds very tasty.

And actually starting a garden is, well, "challenging." I believe that's the appropriate word, Tiggy. Especially challenging when one hasn't a clue about what one is doing.

Re:
Puffin's Avatar Dear Bear,
My 'ol back' has been bothering me too-think it is the weather.
Makes me want to get at our Vggie's hearing about your 'Kitchen Garden.'Pumpkin and squash don't do well here.
They just bloom and and bloom-no fruit, but Hot Peppers, wow.
They love it here.
Hi Tiggy,nice to see you.
P.M.'d you Camilla.
Sorry forgot Coffee hour this a.m.

Re:
Bear is weary tonight. I need to fold the wash and attend to Miss Sadie. Have already checked on Max; Tiddles and the clock have received ideal care at skool for another night.

So Bear is going to climb down off the perch. (Study perch that is; can handle the weight of a Bear, plus Owls.)

Sleep well, good Owls.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Very late here, so off to bed now, thank you for tending to Max, Tiddles and the Clock Bear. Sleep well.

Night Night Frances, Bear, Tiggy, and Puffin, lovely to be on the perch with you tonight/morning.

Sweetest of dreams, see you tomorrow, er that is already here.....!
