Cowart's Common Room
GOOD MORNING!

Today is Wednesday, May 26, 2010. This is my second go at this greeting. The first one go lost in thin air.

Yesterday, it rained. And rained. And rained some more. Her Ladyship, Miss Sadie, given the opportunity to go outside, took one look at the situation, and headed back inside. She spent most of the day sleeping. On the floor. On the carpet. In her bed. On the sofa. In my winged-back chair my reading chair. Her Ladyship commandeered it; and when it's a Lady, well, her wish is my command. Sigh! Especially on a rainy day, when I had lots to read.

Speaking of which, what is your favourite "rainy day" activity? Bear cooked and cleaned, but those are not my favourite activities. But since I couldn't be outside, I did what needed to be done inside.

We finally got outside when the rain stopped. It was supper time, and time to barbecue. This is barbecue season in the colony; we're going to barbecue, come H**l or high water the latter being much more likely than the former. While the meat was cooking, Sadie and I played fetch. The interesting thing was that we could both see our breath. Not surprising when it's 4C (about 39F).

Interesting that Cowart's Skool folk have been going through difficult times. Headmistress' JRT, Arine, needs some Purple Vibes right about now. Faith's Yorkie was having troubles a little while ago, but seems to have pulled through. Salle de Bain suffered a "misadventure by horse." And there are others, of whom the Bear knows, who could use our support.

Tea today is Orange Pekoe; Bear is trying a new recipe for Welsh Cakes. There are also digestives in the biscuit tins (some plain, some chocolate).

Hope you have a grand day!

Salle de Bain's Avatar Thanks for the mention Bear...and good morning to you too!
We've had no rain for weeks and wielding a watering can with sore ribs is no joke eitherCrying or Very sad.

Favourite rainy day activity would be housework. I refuse to do any if the sun is shining, so it builds up and up and UP aaaagghhh!!
Have a good dayCool

Camilla's Avatar A very Good Morning to you Bear,

Thank you for the supply of Orange Pekoe Tea, had not heard of that tea, presume it has a hint of orange in it, sounds lovely.

Sorry to hear much rain on your side of the pond Bear, rain is forecast here for much of the week, so bank holiday looks like it is going to be a washout. Just a minute......... Bear has welsh cakes and bikkies on offer, yum yum, thanks Bear.!

Have a grand day too Bear.Cool

Oh Salle, so sorry to hear about your sore ribs, poor you, hope you feel better soon.

xx

Re:
Irish Eyes's Avatar Hello Bear, yes, I'll have a cuppa of good old Orange Pekoe, a firm favourite, but are the bikkies gluten free? If not then I'll pass. Favourite occupation on rainy day? Reading a good book curled up in front of a warm fire. I usually get a kick start on the cleaning when the sunshine shows up any lurking dust, and yes, I'm with Salle, a night of rain would answer a lot of woes.
Top of the morning to you Bear.

Re:
Thanks, IE.

Don't have any good recipes for gluten-free biscuits, yet. Having lately discovered a gluten sensitivity in my body (though nowhere near full-blown Celiac disease), I keep looking for non-gluten options.

So I'll now need a third biscuit tin. But that's good. There are lots of folk with auto-immune diseases, and we all need to be careful, for all our sakes.
