Not one of ours unfortunately, kept tropical fish for years and always wanted a marine aquarium but much harder to set

Westerwitch's Avatar Guess mine was Cyd my one eyed Pirhana . . . I had a Matta Matta turtle once and chameleons and spiders and snakes and various other reptiles . . . in fact loads . . . um yes loads of unusual pets . . . even had a crocodile at one point before I came to the conclusion that it was wrong to keep all these creatures in captivity for our pleasure - so I gave all mine to London Zoo and have never caged anything since . . . although I do keep fish . . . and I do wonder about them . . . but I love my Parrot Fish and they do seem very happy Very Happy

Fairy Nuff's Avatar Is that Cyd at the top?

Where in gawds sake did you keep the croc ?

Westerwitch's Avatar Yes Cyd at the top he tended to swim with his good eye out.

The croc was kept in a huge tank - but however much room you give a creature like that to me it could never be enough.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar I guess if he swam the other way round he wouldn't see you coming.
Fell in love with a hand tame Oscar once that loved to be tickled but at 33 inches we would have needed a swimming pool to do him justice Rolling Eyes

Faith's Avatar Havent ever had a strange pet, but all the pets I've had have had their own funny little waysSmile

Preseli Mags's Avatar I was going to say the same as Faith Laughing. Some of my pets have been a little strange - but all run of the mill things. I'm VERY alarmed at the idea of a pet croc WW. Blimey. Shocked

Fairy Nuff's Avatar I know what you both mean.
I've had a one legged cat (that could still catch mice but stopped killing them for some reason), a budgie that wouldn't go onto the bottom of his cage so had to fly free most of the time so he could feed on the top of the cage and my friends tom cats hair started falling out but the female hormones he was given as a treatment had all the local toms wooing himConfused

Fairy Nuff's Avatar OOpsEmbarassed I meant three legged...I started off to say he had lost one leg and got confused!

Preseli Mags's Avatar We had a one-legged duck once (thanks to Mr Fox). She hopped about quite well and she swam the pond in zig-zags. Rolling Eyes

Camilla's Avatar Hi Westerwitch,

Love the colour and design to those tropical fish, never kept fish but think they can be very calming.

Have never had a strange pet, although years ago we had a neighbour who had a cat named Beau with only three legs, but he still managed to get around well, he had a lovely nature. I had four cats years ago but the only thing that worries me about cats is they have a craving for our feathered friends.

Have had fish, budgie, and dogs.

Fish and bird were OK; dogs are a lot of fun. I recommend every child should be issued a dog at birth. I also recognize that won't go over well with a lot of people, particularly (perhaps) said child's parents.

And while not officially "pets," birds, squirrels and mice (eeewww) which have come to our bird feeders.
