Guess the Contents!

Today, I had a parcel arrive from Amazon - to say I was a little surprised at the size of it was an understatement - inside the large box were 3 smaller boxes with what seems like miles of packaging paper in each. Can you guess what was in all this packaging? I'll post a picture in the comments later in the day - you won't believe your eyes - I still don't believe they did this!

CalicoKate's Avatar Chris's Turning the Tide? Advanced and everso very top secret delivery.

Preseli Mags's Avatar Is that packaging Russian doll style? Presumably the contents were small and expensive - an iPod perhaps?

The last parcel I had from Amazon was a Chillington style hoe. It was wrapped in paper and taped head to toe in parcel tape, but was clearly a hoe (much to the delight of the van driver). It was almost unwrappable (is that a word?).

Westerwitch's Avatar ShockedShockedShocked I had the same with Boots - huge box tiny package - if that is what it is and it has to be judging by the amount of paper . . .

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar I think they should be told. Amazon should knlow better.

Since it came from Amazon instead of Afghanistan, it probably wasn't a bomb. That being ruled out, I have no suggestion to offer, except something fragile like glass or crystal.

3 bottles of Tisserand Organic Lavender and Lemon deodorant and a Tisserand Lavender Wheat Pillow.

Each of the deodorants was packed in one of the smaller boxes with miles of packing! These small boxes were then put in the large box along with the pillow and another huge ream of packing paper!

Rosie, be assured I have told Amazon what I think of it, and sent these images too.

Milla, Withy, sorry - been up at the hossie for treatment - hope it was worth the wait!

What waste eh?

Preseli Mags's Avatar Lovely things to get in a parcel - but the packaging is bonkers.

Posted by: Preseli Mags on 19th May 2010 at 07:10PM

Milla's Avatar of course it was, dear girl - although appalling at the same time. All gone bonkers. Hope hospital not too much of an ordeal?

Posted by: Milla on 19th May 2010 at 07:57PM

KittyB's Avatar That's quite ridiculous!! Bonkers indeed! Sounds like a nice parcel though, like the sound of that deodorant, and a lavender wheat bag too, lovely.

PM I like your hoe description. When I filled in for the internet orders girl at our shop I was stumped by garden tools - couriers don't provide a bag for those (!) so improvised in exactly the way you described!

Mollygolver's Avatar You could almost play pass the parcel with that one ZoeLaughing

Westerwitch's Avatar Shocked berlimey . . . bonkers indeed. Trees tremble at the name of Amazon . . .

Mountainear's Avatar That's a bit OTT. Trees tremble indeed.

Put my father on plane to Australia once which stopped over in Mumbai. His hand luggage was a small bag but there were those who seemed to think a brown paper parcel in the unmistakable shape of an ironing board was also acceptable.

Frances's Avatar Zoe, I've also experienced the extravagance of Amazonic packaging. Do make sure that you recycle it...I know that you will. I never need to search for a carton or bubble wrap...just go to the Amazon leftovers.

I am another fan of lavender scent and bet the carefully enclosed merch will be wonderful.

Lavender is truly lovely. But all that packaging? Shocked Blink

The affluent create a lot of effluent, and other garbage, I guess. so much waste.

Bear trundles out, shaking head. Rolling Eyes
