Cowart's Common Room

Hello Owls,

Well Daisy is sporting a new do, eeek...... think the lovely Jane at posh pets may have taken off a bit too much, never mind soon grow again and at least she is clean after bath, that's until she decides to dig up the earth again, JRT's love to dig.

Drove over to the hospital to see friend, so pleased that the flowers, chocs and books cheered her.

More booked appointments tomorrow so will be having another early night, just hope that I can fit in the painting to do outside.

Popped into a flower shop today, proprietor said...... 'do you ever go to Norwich'? 'not often I said', 'neither do I she said, leave that to the younger folk'. Looking at me she said........ 'not like us oldies'....... EXCUSE ME.!!!!Smile

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

WHOA Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation ArrowArrowArrow

It cannot possibly be this time already. What happened to the day?

Sun is still shining, and I haven't had supper. Arrrrgghhh Exclamation

Glad you and Daisy had a good day, Camilla. As for age, I remember my wife telling me about a resident of a Seniors Centre, aged 80, who was talking about the old person (aged 90) in the next room. Age is like family; it's all relative. Bear's perspective: you're as old as you think you are. (At that rate, Bear will never grow up.)

I'll be back, later. Much later, I think Sad

And I'll check on "the crew" in the Skool before I return. (I expect they're all well.)

Puffin's Avatar Hi Camilla,
Sounds like a early night.
So sweet dreams.
Yes,Daisy's hair will soon fill out.
I know here you have to tell them,if you don't want too much of a cut, unless she had a lot of tangled spots.
I try to keep them out of Teddy,as he still has such lovely long Puppy fur, just a trim.

Puffin's Avatar I agree with Bear about age,but add you are as old as you feel.
You are one of the people with your wonderful spirit ,Camilla who will be forever young.
And Bear--Yes, it feels soo early to be here.altho it is grey, cold and rainy out. Here across the pond.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Puffin and Bear,

Thank you, yes one is as old as one feels........ but the thing is, what is old.! I am not worried about being old, it's enivitable we all get older, but what age defines young, and what age defines old.

Pleased to hear you have sunny day Bear, enjoy your yummy supper.

Think Daisy's hair will soon grow again, she needed grooming though, I usually brush her coat daily, she needed her nails clipped too which she loathes having done. She is off to vets later today for her booster annual injection.

Sorry to hear your weather has been grey and rainy Puffin, hope the weather soon brightens up for you.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

Thank you for your messages, hope your day went well.

Just going to make a quick cuppa, back in a jiffy.

Frances's Avatar Hello Camilla, and to Puffin and Bear, too.

Camilla. You and I will just have to eventually go to Norwich and have a grand time.

Glad that Daisy has had her grooming and will soon get the vet treatment. After that, she will probably want to stay at home for a while! Chase rabbits in her sleep or take her chances on the walks you give her.

Cold and rainy in New York today. I got errands done, and some crochet experiments and some reading. Just never enough hours.

I will have to be at the shop tomorrow before 8 am, to help the company's visuals merchandising team bring the June collection on the floor. We are the test store for the June re-arrangement, so photos will be taken to prepare a directive that will be e-mailed to all the other shops across the country.

I called the shop late this afternoon, to make sure that all was prepared for tomorrow. I got an affirmative answer.

Posted by: Camilla on 19th May 2010 at 12:34AM

Camilla's Avatar Hello again Frances, thank you, oh yes definately......... we would be just grand in Norwich.

Did not realise you had a day off today Frances, pleased though to hear you managed to do some of that beautiful crochet work, and always lovely to catch up with good book, agree time goes so quickly.

Best of luck with the June Collection Frances, hope your bosses realise what a great job you are doing.

Kettle is boiling.

If "you're as old as you feel," then I'm 144 today. SadSadSad

Maybe we could swap some weather, Puffin. I'll take a bit of your grey and rainy, you can have a bit of my 82F, under a sunny blue sky. Do we have a deal? (Bear doesn't like when it's warmer than 70F; you know, this big coat and all.)

I prefer to keep Her Ladyship's coat short in the hot weather. Cooler for her; also easier to find ticks and the like. Even at that, she's often lying on the basement (cement) floor, the coolest place in the house. (Unless we turn on the air conditioning if you're going to live in a land of weather extremes, you might as well be ready for them.)

Max, at skool, is fine. The clock is out, for it's evening dose of moonglow. Tiddles, is another story. A quick diagnostic check shows some difficulties. She's had some rough handling. I fear "the usual suspects," but I'm going to have to bring her home for a few hours to check in more detail. (Oh, the challenges to having livestock, mechanical and living. Confused)

Sounds like you had an interesting day, Frances. I can sympathize: too much month at the end of the money; too much work undone at the end of the hours. Plus, I've recently discovered, if you have a day off, the time thieves are able to steal half your hours. There is no justice!

Do hope your June presentation goes well. If you're in the fashion business, you have to be fashionable.

Frances's Avatar I am with you, Bear, on preferring the temp to be no higher than the low 70's F.

Still, it was odd to actually be wearing some of my hand knit wooly socks today. Thought that they'd been put away until around October.

Camilla, thank you for your kind wishes re the shop. I can say no more.

Today is an election primary day in many parts of our country. A well-qualified Senatorial candidate from our neighboring state of Connecticut has had his career come undone as it was discovered by keen researchers that his many claims to have served in the armed forces during the years of the controversial Vietnam War were ... lies. What was he thinking. Why do these politicians lie?

Now there's a mixed-topic comment! xo

Posted by: Frances on 19th May 2010 at 12:54AM

Camilla's Avatar Ah dear Bear, but I bet you don't look it. Quite warm here yesterday, but agreeable temperature of 61 degrees, like the sun but not too hot, plays havoc with the hayfever.

Thank you Bear for skool, wondering perhaps if that Tiddles was met by a JRT.!

Posted by: Camilla on 19th May 2010 at 12:59AM

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances,

Think there was coverage of what you say about that Senatorial candidate on our TV yesterday evening Frances. Lies will get you nowhere, soon comes out in the end...........
probably many politicians do, not good.

Camilla's Avatar My bed is calling me, night night Frances and to Bear, sweetest of dreams, see you tomorrow. Must catch up on the site, eyes are closing.

Nite Nite Owls.

Frances's Avatar Sweet dreams to you, Camilla.

I will also have an early night to rest up for my early start.

Bear and Puffin, please do keep the perch warm or well lit, or otherwise welcoming for as long as you all can stay awake.

Look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow. xo

Alas, the Bear is alone to bear the burden of caring for the Owl perch.

Enough. I too shall retire, but not before saying "Good Morning!" to all and sundry.

Sleep well, good Owls.
