Cowart's Common Room
I CAN'T SLEEP CHAT POST

The Chief Owl has arrivedSmile hello Owls.!

The weather has been slightly warmer, good enough in fact to go without a jacket even. Next week we are going to have it even warmer which I hope will continue through to the weekend, large family gathering arriving for tasty treats in the garden.

Popped into the little vintage shop today, only needed to buy some greeting cards but could not help myself with choosing some pretty lanterns for the garden and another tiny dressed teddy. I can see why the lovely lady who owns that shop names it Very Nice Things.

Whatever your plans are for the weekend, have a great one.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Camilla's Avatar Good Evening Bear,

I have left you message to your Owls Well, thank you, hope you are feeling much better with your back and that Miss Sadie got top marks in her doggy classes yesterday.

Think it is supper time in your neck of the woods Bear, hope to see you on the perch later.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hello Camilla and Bear.

Our NYC weather was also a bit warmer today. After some morning rain, things brightened up greatly, which was good for my many erranding trips around town.

Hoping that I have not missed connecting with you all. We owls are a transient bunch!

Camilla, bet that vintage themed shop would be fun to visit with you.

Bear, I also hope that you are feeling better and better.

Having gotten so many of my errands taken care of today, I would so love to have another day off tomorrow to really have time to myself. However...it will be back to work (albeit with a clean apartment, fresh laundry, and a filled fridge.)

My current book is A.S. Byatt's The Children's Book. Have you read it? It's a long book, and my first borrowing of it from the library did not quite allow me enough time to get half-way through. Better luck for me this time.

I have another big book checked out, Wolf Hall.

Re:
Checked things at skool. Tiddles is looking very good; Max has spent quite a bit of time attending to her.

But why was Tiddles looking so scruffy in the first place? Perhaps some of the pesky JRTs that infest (er, um, make that "inhabit") the skool. I'll need to check her computer log sometime on the weekend.

Delightful pictures, as always, Camilla. We won't talk about Miss Sadie and her doggie manners (seeing as she doesn't have any Sad).

Glad you had a good day, Frances. Seems you never get two days of in a row. Truly, there's no justice in the world.

I have some errands to do as well, friends, so I had best get to them. Won't be back until much later. By then, even the Owls will have gone to bed.

Sleep well, good Owls.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances and Bear,

Good to hear the NY weather was kind to you on your day off Frances. Indeed, we Owls must stick together.!

Hoping too that our dear Bear is feeling so much better.

Oh Frances, love A.S. Byatt, don't think I have read that book though, thank you for the info, another on my list to reserve at local library. I am not sure but think Muriel Sparke had high regard for Byatt.

Wolf Hall, is it a book on fiction Frances?

Re:
Frances's Avatar Yes, Camilla, Wolf Hall, by Hilary Mantel, won the 2009 Booker Prize, and concerns itself with a certain O Cromwell.

Oh yes, I always liked Muriel Spark's writing, too.

I think with enough time, and enough tea, I could read forever! xo

RE
Camilla's Avatar Thank you Bear, oh Miss Sadie, trust classes did not go well, perhaps you could bribe her with some tasty treats beforehand.Smile

Thank you for tending to Max and Tiddles and the Clock, perhaps Tiddles had been digging up the veggie patch where JRT had buried a boney.!

Hope to see you later Bear, if not, sleep well good Bear.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Camilla, I forgot another of today's accomplishments ... finally finished a pair of socks started quite a while ago...it might still be cool enough to wear them.

There are several strange sculptures recently arranged in the neighborhood ... "public" art. I will try to get some photos to post tomorrow.

RE
Camilla's Avatar I bet those socks you have knitted look fab, you are soo talented Frances. Never too hot to sport a pair of fab socks.!

How wonderful Frances, shall look forward to seeing those pics of sculpture. There was a piece on the evening news yesterday about Tate Modern in London, such a long time ago I first went there.

I love sculpture, I have The Three Graces in one garden here, and have The Three Graces in a form of a beautiful bird-bath in other garden.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Thanks again Camilla.

I am going to log off now, sort of wind down, since I will be due at the shop early tomorrow ... by 9:30. Hoping that means I can have an early departure, too. However, if we do have a busy day, I will definitely stick around to keep those customers getting the service they deserve.

Hope to see you tomorrow. Nite, nite. xo

RE
Camilla's Avatar Night Night Frances, I hope that you can depart from shop a little earlier, more time also for you to chill out at home and catch up on those fab books.

Sweetest of dreams to you Frances, and to all the owls hopping on the perch later.

See you tomorrow.
