Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

It is getting on for midnight and no sign of Camilla and I think we are all concerned that her vertigo may still be getting the better of her . . . so if you see this Camilla please forgive me for stealing your slot . . .

A very weak attempt to snow today and then later it warmed up and the 'bits' in the air were insects flying around . . . I can't keep up.

So if you find you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a chat here Very Happy

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Oh so good to see you Camilla - how are you?

. . . sigh . . . forgotten the name of the butterfly - we have a lot of them near us - took this last year . . .and looked up the name then . . . not a Brimstone though.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Thank you Westerwitch, no need to apologise...... noooo sireee.! just thankful that the perch is here for all the owls.

Eeek, snow in May, love the snow though although we did see lots of it earlier on in January here. As for the fly's, Daisy loathes them, she hides under the table.Rolling Eyes

Another bout of the old vertigo on Tuesday, quite scary and not sure if it is to do with stress. Inner ear could be the problem but do not have any infections to ears. The best remedy is to lay down in a darkened room and hoping it will pass, much better on Wednesday thankgoodness.

Re:
Well, the Bear is here, for one.

Bear has learned some new languages since arriving at Cowart's Skool. Bear has learned introductory Duck and basic Owl. Now I can say, "Quack" and "Hoot." Who gives a hoot if Bear gets things wrong and quacks people up? And what's this thing called a "learning curve"?

Unfortunately, Bear has yet to learn Butterfly, so I can't help with the identification of the aforementioned creature. Sorry. Confused

Fruit and vegetable salad, with chicken, rice and peas for supper. Rather tasty. J did the salad; Bear did the rest. I was going to ask what you had, but you probably ate so long ago you might not remember so I'll forego that one.

But how is everyone feeling? (Aside from, "with my hands"?)

Re:
Bear, fortunately, does not experience Vertigo but does have dizzy spells. I lay down for a nap this afternoon, and got up not feeling at all steady on my feet. NO, I hadn't been drinking! Nor had I taken any unusual medications. And hour later (and post supper) I'm still unsteady on my feet. I've got about 20 minutes to shape up, because then I'm off to our son's to play with the grandkids for a while.

I've never seen a "Shay pup"; what do they look like.

Also waiting to hear from Faith about her little Yorkie. She's probably so busy that her mind's not at Skool right now.

BTW, Faith left a note in the Animal Forum about getting her little Yorkie home, in one piece, looking rather like a patchwork quilt. She explains.

Re:
Probably delightful music, Camilla.

Can't stay any longer; off to son's place.

Hope some more Owls show up.

BTW, Max, Tiddles and clock are all in good order.

WW is Headmistress during the day, but you definitely rule the night, Camilla. Please take care.

Sleep well, good Owls.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Hello again Bear,

Sorry, was just trying to post music video.....love your word descriptions, quack and hoot, your supper dish sounds yummy, I will eat the lot, without the chick though...... owl does not eat much meat these days. My evening meal.... a sea salad, mussels, crab, with salad and cherry toms, served with a garlic bread, all washed down with a chilled white wine.Smile

RE
Camilla's Avatar Aw, thanks Bear, sooo kind.

So sorry to hear you have had the dizzy spells too, ooh, don't overdo it later, Bear needs to conserve his energy. Enjoy your time with grandchildren later, know those grandchildren are very lucky to have such a very kind GrandBear to look after them.

As for the Shay pup......... never known a JRT be afraid of fly's before, given the chance she would eat them.!

Thank you for tending to Max, Tiddles and Clock, Bear is top Bear.!

Nighty Night Bear, sleep well, hope to see you tomorrow.

Frances's Avatar Welcome back Camilla!

Here I am late again, but so delighted to see that you are well enough to face the computer screen. I remember my only bout with labryinthitis (or something like that) really frightened me. I could not look at television or at the computer screen at my then office.

Thank goodness it sort of tapered off and went away. xo

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances.!

Thank you, yes that's it...... like being drunk and room going round........ heck, long time since I was that drunk.!

Do hope you have yummy supper at the ready Frances, and that most important glass of chilled Chardonnay.

I have just been taking a tour of the site, still lots more to catch up on later though.

Camilla's Avatar Lovely to see the bluebells in my garden yesterday, not a huge amount but just enough to show their gentle gorgeous blue flowers, periwinkle's out too. Looks like the wisteria may flower this year too, HL cut it back a couple of years ago and it never flowered.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Camilla, don't stay a minute longer here than feels okay. Rest is great for just about everything.

I have now got tonight's pasta in front of me ... with Australian Shiraz in the glass.

My server connection is quite iffy tonight, so I hope this will go through. I now owe you a pm.

It is so cold here tonight. Funny thing, when I got to my home subway station and was walking towards the exit that leaves me nearest the grocery market I needed to visit ... I spied a wonderful old (well, we are about the same age) boyfriend of mine, and it was fun as always to have a very quick catchup.

Night Night, sweetest of dreams to you. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Nighty night Owls.

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar Sorry to miss you Camilla. Hi Frances. When I read Muffin her story and put her to bed, I lay on our bed and crashed. Just woke up and had to have a cuppa. Spent a lovely afternoon down in Wicklow. My sister took my brother who is ill, Muffin & I. Went to visit the home of the lady we stayed with when the cottage was overloaded. Her grand daughter and family live there now, and she invited us in for afternoon tea. Muffin was thrilled as they had a Teeeapin, a guinea pig, hens, ducks, peacocks, dogs, cats and a fish pond. I think the walk on the beach made me tired. My brother then treated us to Dinner in a lovely hotel.

Re:
Tiggywinkle's Avatar Hope you enjoyed supper Frances. It is also very sunny here, but extremely cold. Still it is lovely to see the blue skies, and the longer evenings. May is such a lovely month with all the new fresh growth.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hello Tiggy. The day that you describe just sounds grand! That little Muffin is a joy to all, I am sure.

I admit that I would have loved to have seen those various animals up close. And the dinner would not have been too bad, either.

Hoping that your brother will be better soon.

I know how late it is across the pond, and so I wish you and our chief owl, Camilla, very sweet dreams and a strengthening restful sleep.

Hoping to see you all here tomorrow ... once again I will be on the late shift. xo
