Enjoying catching up

Uploaded Image

Just want to say a belated ‘hi’ and let you know that I am thoroughly enjoying reading about everyone’s spring gardens. Here we’re enjoying a beautiful calm autumn (my favourite time of the year even knowing that winter isn’t too far away.) The vine harvests have been very picturesque and are nearly completed everywhere.
I am catching up with everyone’s news – sorry to have been silent for so long. I had another surgery just over 2 weeks ago, and although there is now rather less of me and this second surgery turned out to be more complicated than hoped, everything went very well and I am making a speedy recovery.
We also became grandparents 2 weeks ago (the only plus to being in hospital then was having my son turn up in my ward with a wheelchair 15 minutes after our beautiful granddaughter’s birth and being taken down the 2 floors to the delivery suite...a very special time!)
Sadly sadness as well 3 days later in losing a beautiful dog. He was less than 2 years old (a loving white retriever) but developed a lung tumour and died on the vets’ xray table. Remus (our cavoodle) is still looking for his very best buddy.
So am still very much in recovery mode – but what an excellent opportunity to catch up on the Coo! ... And today is Mothers Day in NZ and I am being well and truly spoiled!

Sorry to hear of your surgery, Sumarell — thought you'd been awfully quiet lately. Glad to hear of the addition (trusting the your granddaughter's arrival outweighed your discomfort). Hope you are soon well-healed.

So sorry about your dog. We had a beautiful Standard Poodle (our first) who died about the age of one year. We're now on our third Standard Poodle, Miss Sadie. Yes, Bear had gone to the dogs. Sad

Best from the Bear at the other end of the world (and Commonwealth).

Hoping your recovery from the surgery will be easy and speedy.

Congrats on the new grandchild. I am so sad about the loss of that pup. I know the pain that comes with such a loss.

And ... Happy Mother's Day! xo
