Part of Times Square Evacuated After 'Suspicious Package' Report

Part of Times Square was evacuated between West 44th and West 47th Streets after the police received reports of a suspicious package at Broadway and West 46th Street at about 12:45 p.m. It was the second suspicious-package call and at
least partial evacuation in the area of the day.

This is "home turf" for Frances, our Deputy Night Owl. Not an auspicious set of events. I do hope she is OK.

Frances's Avatar Hello all. Sorry to be a poor witness, but I am just home from work and know nothing about the incident you mention, Bear. Was it today?

Maybe it will be reported on the 11 pm local tv news.

Yes, it was today. Both incidents were today.

Glad to know you survived.

New York isn't as much fun as it used to be, that's for sure. Sad
