Cowart's Common Room

Good Evening Owls,

The weather much kinder than those previous gales, so was able to get out into the gardens and mow the lawns and do some weeding. Just wish I had planted more tulips last year, another to add to my list for garden shop.

Just going to make a cuppa, hope to see you later owls.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

Hope you have had a wonderful relaxing day off.

Terribly sad news about Lynn Redgrave, she was a lovely person and a fine actress. My heart goes out to her family who are already suffering the loss too of other members of the Redgrave family.

Frances's Avatar Hoping not to have missed you, Camilla. I had a hiccup with my connection.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances,

Yes, gardening is good but not so good on my old back.!Smile

I know that your painted card and gift package will be that extra special and created beautifully by you Frances, sure your dear Mom will just love them.

Not sure if Mother's Day will be the same date here Frances? still miss my dear mother.

Think there was a piece on the internet news of that said bomber Frances.

Always good to catch up with friends, my dear friend has just had major Op and is in little cottage hospital not far away recouperating, think sadly it will be quite a while before she is back home again.

Great cloud formations Frances, the weather seems to be so fickle at the moment, one day lighter clothes, others an extra layering of warmer clothes.

Frances's Avatar Yes, Camilla, spring weather is full of drama. I read Bear's report of May snowfall in his part of Canada.

Hoping that your friend will have a good, steady recovery.

In the States, Mother's Day is always in early May. My recollection is that Mothering Sunday is celebrated in March in the UK. When I used to travel across the pond regularly, I'd usually try to find a UK card for my mom. Do you remember the Medici card shop right round the corner from the South Kensington tube station? They always had fine cards.

Camilla's Avatar Bear has snow in Canada.! they have had a lot of snow this year.

Thank you kindly Frances for your best wishes for my friend.

Oh of course, forgot we had Mother's Day over here in early March....... remember receiving some fab cards from my children, my mind is like a sieve.!Smile

Oh yes Frances, a lovely shop in South Kensington for those Medici cards.

My son and his partner have put their apartment in London on the market, they are hoping to buy larger house in Surrey, but I do miss going to London, had a great time growing up in Westminster.

Tiggywinkle's Avatar Lovely photos Camilla. Difficult to get to the owl perch these days, as getting up at 6.30 a.m. Sorry I missed Frances. Just so busy at the moment. Still trying to get my new computer sorted. Painted a chair to-day to go with my little table in the porch. Weather here fine, but still so cold at night. Got my washhouse tidied and sorted. Have lots of technical stuff to learn for the B&B systems - a pain.
Also have new approval and classification system coming up for B&B in July which is a pain. My garden is looking well at last.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Tiggy.!

I hope you are well so too Tigger and your family and that the B&B is going well also.

Sorry Tiggy but late here so just off to bed, night night, and sweet dreams.

See you tomorrow Owls.

I am sure Max has done brilliant job with tending to Tiddles and the clock for the night, Bear has given good instructions.!

Posted by: Camilla on 5th May 2010 at 02:26AM

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Tiggy, very long day for you especially getting up so early too. Best of luck with your PC. Bet the little chair you painted looks lovely. Bought a shade of duck egg blue paint, unfortunately it is too pale, but I can use it on another piece of wood.

Cold at night here too Tiggy, and have run out of logs.

Must be a worry with the new classification for B&B Tiggy, know my friend had to have that a couple of years ago too with her cottage, she has now decided to rent it out permanently rather than a holiday let.

Hope you can get some time for enjoying that lovely garden of your's Tiggy.

Nighty Night Tiggy.

OH DEARExclamation The late Bear is so late again that there are no Owls left.

Snowed all day today. Didn't stay on the roads, walks, and freshly-turned ground, but trees, grass, and plants are still covered. Confused

Agreed to purchase a "new to us" car this evening, while J was with the grandchildren. Yes, it's another Volvo our fourth. Quite sporty a bit of a surprise of this "retiring" bear.

Max has everything under control, as usual.

Sleep well, good Owls.
