Cowart's Common Room
netbooks

hi all
today's obsession is ... netbooks. Namely am pitifully seduced by small size and long battery life but want to know if anyone's had experience, good or bad, with them.
Since all I really "need" it for is as a glorified typewriter I'm not concerned about connectivity probs or any of that stuff. What's important is a good keyboard, a see-able screen, quick start time, not too much heat / huffing and puffing, good battery.
Any thoughts??
Thanks.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Do you mean laptops, Milla? I can recommend a MacBook. More expensive than a PC but better and better looking too.

Re:
Pondside's Avatar My daughter has a normal laptop and a netbook. She really likes the netbook for its size and (I've just asked her) has no complaints at all. I'm tempted to get one as it will fit into my purse, but is bigger and easier to type on than my Blackberry.

Re:
Milla's Avatar yes, netbook rather than laptop, Fennie. We have the latter - too big, too hot. Want small. Not i-anything, sadly, as E very rude about them (is a software engineer and likes to be able to fiddle in the bits no-one else would!) and we have PC everything else so wouldn't make sense to switch to Macs. I love the look of them to be honest but also they are too expensive Sad
would love to hear what makes your daughter in law, Camilla and your daughter, Pondie, have.
thanks.
