Cowart's Common Room

Today is Tuesday, May 4, 2010.

We begin with news of the loss of another member of the amazing Redgrave family. As Frances has posted, Lynn Redgrave has died; at her home in Kent, Connecticut, on Sunday night. She was 67. She had been fighting breast cancer since 2002.

For a Bank Holiday, things got a bit busy around skool yesterday. Pictures of beautiful gardens, fine tea, canine attitude, wise sayings, and strange relationships. The spice of life (and, no, I'm not talking about the likes of Victoria Beckham or Geri Halliwell).

Her Ladyship, Miss Sadie, continued her destruction spree, briefly, but was then banished to the dungeon I mean basement for the duration of the day. (But that's where she usually lives.) Except for a couple of walks, and an hour or so of supervising our work in the back yard. (Yes, the poor thing is so hard done by.)

I guess it's back to work for most of us (whether at home or in shop or ship). Though some, I suppose, will be layabouts like the Bear. And maybe not even the Bear. Let's see; meeting at the university, work on the garden (if it doesn't snow, as scheduled), grandchildren this evening. Hmmmm . . .

Scottish thistle tea in the common room (it's a bit strong, made for hardy highland folk, I think). Also some shortbread in the tins from WW though Headmistress doesn't know that, because the Bear . . . well, you can figure it out.

Hope you have a grand day!

Bringing my own French roast, but Short bread sounds good.
So much sad news again.
At least saved lives in Times Sq. New York City-Usa by quick acting.
See you all later.
Poor Miss Sadie-sounds like my Teddy, but he is kept out of spaces on main floor with Baby Gates--yes,you can climb over them and remove at will'
If he gets any taller he will be able to jump over, haha.
