Cowart's Common Room
Weather Round Up

From speaking to various people on the phone this morning it became clear that the weather is pretty varied around the country today - so would be interested to hear what it is like where you are.

Here in Central Scotland we have had a glorious morning with sunshine, blue skies a fabulous backdrop for the snow on the hills . . . but it is very cold - although no wind. Clouding over a bit now . . . oooooooo and last night it was trying to snow.

So what is it like where you are?

Re:
Wet, windy, cold, dark and miserable. It rained so much last night that the wheel barrow is full to the brim!

Darling daughter's roof on her student digs has sprung a leak, the ceiling is bulging under the weight of the water, and the Landlord says he will pop by on Friday if he gets a moment Shocked Not sure there will be a ceiling to inspect by then!

Hope everyone is warm, safe, and dry.

Re:
Arosebyanyothername's Avatar Very sunny here but colder than it has been. Not raining thank goodness as we need the huge puddles in the theatre car park to dry up before Wednesday so that theatre goers don't get mud on their shoes.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Evil or Very Mad Makes me cross when landlords don't look after their properties and take advantage of the fact that not all students have the confidence to make a lot of noise when complaining . . .

Re:
Toady's Avatar Cold and windy and the first bit of 'dry' we've had for days.

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar Cold with snow or sleet showers and a north wind. Touches of watery sun, but it doesn't stay for long.

Woozle1967's Avatar Here on the Gloucestershire/Herefordshire borders it is blue skies all the way, but very, very cold and a chill wind is blowing too. Brrrrrrr.xx

Re:
Faith's Avatar Surrey as Zoe says. I slept badly with dreams of floods, as we are right next to the river and it is nearly brimming over. I've lit the fire and I'm watching the Darling Buds of May, all cosy.

Re:
KittyB's Avatar Where there was once a pond there is now a river, the whole of the bottom field is flooded, the bridge over the pond to the island (all now under water) is sticking up like a shipwreck! I think it's broken.

It's cold and showery, sometimes rain, sometimes sleet, and a biting north wind. Brrrrr.

Re:
Lampworkbeader's Avatar A bit chilly and wet this morning in West Sussex. Now it's dull but at least it's not raining any more.

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar My brother's laconic response to a weather query was "Rain" As he is not far from you, Kitty, i can understand why. So sorry about the bridge - but it will mend.

Re:
KittyB's Avatar Yes - S will have a new project once the water drops! I don't really mind (well, I do - but I'm being realistsic, we're not badly off at all compared to others...) how much damage goes on in the garden as long as it doesn't come as far up as the house.

Re:
Ivy's Avatar No rain here and from the 5th floor office I can just watch the sun set . The whole sky looks like a spectacular watercolour above the skyline of a busy port with wind turbines, cranes and container bridges. Great view but the first one for weeks now. Hubby just asked if we should go to the Christmas market after office.... well what else can you ask for? Hope the weather dries up wherever you are. Kitty your picture looks pretty scary.

Silverhead's Avatar Lovely Winter weather here, north of you,WW. Very cold but it is The end of November! A real wintery sky, starry, bright moon and black trees and mountains silhouetted against a very pale blue sky. I love it. This is the way winter should be, not that never ending rain and grey skiesWink
