Hello from New York on Saturday night.

I just know that our chief owl Camilla will soon be here.

Meanwhile, I thought it a great owl tale to let you know about a wonderful book by a lady I met through the shop. Please do read her book (now available in paperback ... softcover in UK lingo.)

It was lovely to see her today amid all the other busy-ness of the shop's business.

Blackbird's Avatar Owls in Central Park. But, of course.

Hi Frances, I feel as I've been on vacation but instead just surfacing from family and Thanksgiving. I'm relishing the long weekend and the sense of calm and emptiness around my neighborhood. Obviously, I haven't been shopping!

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances and Blackbird,

Thank you kindly Frances, I was hoping to get here a little sooner. We were not originally planning to go out this evening but went anyway, too much to eat and drink as usual. The weather outside is raining heavily and very cold. I have just put some more logs on the fire and am sitting with a hot cuppa.

Thank you for the info on the book Frances, will check it out.

Enjoy the rest of the calm weekend Blackbird, I have done some shopping locally, more to do though yet.

Frances's Avatar Camilla, those candlelit tiny houses are quite wonderful. Love the little hearts in the background.

Also quite wonderful that you were able to have some fun tonight!

I wish that I had a bit more energy left tonight, since I need to do some more work on my Christmas projects. Perhaps tomorrow night will find me peppier.

Actually still need to read this morning's newspaper! It arrived at my door just as I was leaving for the shop.

Getting late for you, so please do get a good night's rest. xo

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances, I must admit it was grand to spend the evening with Son, and lovely atmosphere too.

I hope you manage to get a good night's sleep tonight, you have had a very busy day at the shop, those customers buying for the festive season.

I have a whole pile of newspapers here Frances that I have not even opened the first pages to, I will hopefully get to read them when I get a quiet moment.

I have just realised I will be posting a card, so off to the forums soon, then lamps out.

Owls in Central Park? Why not. But is it safe to go looking for them after dark?

I've checked on Tiddles and the Clock, Camilla, and everything seems to be in order. Tiddles, though, appears a bit the worse for wear. Some evening this coming week I'll take her to the worship and give her a thorough check. I don't expect to find anything alarming. Just being cautious.

Sleep well, good Owls.

Frances's Avatar Nite, nite and sweet dreams to you, Camilla, and also to other owls who may yet land on this wonderful branch. xo

Frances's Avatar Oh, let me not log off quite so quickly.

Bear, it's grand to see you here tonight.

Yes, there are all sorts of little and not so little animals who call beautiful Central Park their home.

Marie is a veteral bird watcher, and appreciator of all creatures. Her books are a delight. She is very funny and a great observer of life.

Hoping that you are doing well.
